Wallabies 2023

KOB1987

Assume you mean won't be able to play for the Baa Baas if announced beforehand, KOB?

Can easily see him get a short run for the Baa Baas and then off the France the next day for a couple of training sessions with the Wallabies and then into the starting 15 for Portugal. Lenny won't need a lot of time to get up to the mark with the Wallabies, but I think Eddie will need more time to get up to scratch with Len.

However, lose to Wales on Monday and it will all be for nothing.
Yes that’s what I was alluding to.

Anyone else sick of hearing the BS calls that Eddie should've taken Quade & Michael Hooper (i.e. two players in poor form, coming off injuries, had NO success with Wallabies, overtaken in their respective positions)
I'm no expert, but yeah. I can see why they were left behind. Do I think Eddie got it 100% right? No, I don't. But Hoops was carrying an injury - and look at the BS people chuck on him for the current injured players

I mean... we are seeing the consequences of Eddie not bringing in players like Quade. People have every right to be outraged. Mind you I don't have any issue with Hooper not being selected but it was a generally poor decision only to bring one specialist 10.

I thought Quade was shit against SA & Argentina TBH and has never really proven himself at test level

I listened to an interview with M Hooper on MMM this morning, they were prodding him a bit and I was expecting him to say he was injured. That didn’t happen however so I think he was just genuinely left out. Possibly a bit of both. He was extremely diplomatic though, I think not just the current Wallabies but he just wants Australia to be good at rugby.

No issue with Hooper and Quade missing. Problem is with no Foley or suitable big body at 7 either.

Give me Foley, Gleeson @ 7 or Wilkin. Hell, I'd even take Kemeny at this stage.

Are we? How would Quade have helped us against Fiji? We lost the game up front

Yes, very sick of it

Especially considering they wouldn’t have helped us at all can Fiji. When has Quade ever looked good behind a beaten pack? And Michael Hooper wasn’t affecting the breakdown

It’s the low hanging fruit for media. Most of these commentators wouldn’t be able to name 3 current Wallabies so Hooper and Quade are the names they know.

It’s not like they can talk about their wins.

Are we talking about the Hooper with the sub 40%win record as captain and the most cards of any wallaby ever? Nah, let's talk about him some more.
And the 35 yo coming off a 12 month injury, that kicks below 70% and plays 2nd tier Japanese club rugby

Yeah Foley or Quade I didn't really care either. It just had to be ONE of them - even if they didn't play. I mean he took Jorgenson who was really never in the mix to play. He could've used a squad spot just to take one and mentor Gordon.

The discussion was maybe they'd be bad influences on Gordon but ffs, both are known as pretty good trainers and (especially now for Quade) excellent pros.
