Cricket Summer 2023-24

I'll take your word for that. They seemed like the same plastic seats and concrete steps that you find anywhere to me. For the record I love attending both venues.

Adelaide and Perth don't have to be last and usually aren't.

When it comes to financial sense, I really hope it doesn't rain too much during this match. That could really affect the bottom line of CA and the Gabba.

Fair point about prime time television; I do love that part of the Perth test. I for one am working during both tests though.

The Gabba does not have a good reputation from players (other than the pitch), media, hospitality.
It’s outdated for sure.

Obviously not out but this catch from Hurricanes player, Ruben Love in a charity match is incredible. Given he's a professional rugby player, not cricketer it's even more impressive.

Kid's a freak: played U19 world champs in both sports in the same year, I don't think even Goldie managed that.

Catch was defo highlight of the match, Brian Lara could barely hit it off the square :( but was obviously a hit with the crowd.

Dunno really who to barrack for in this India v England series. Normally ABE but India are pretty unlikeable at the moment. Would be worth it to see the absolute melt down if England some snatched it and the whole business around their poor English born pakistani player's visa was pretty fucked.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Although, I wonder how quickly the "moral victory" will be brought up if India get a narrow win

wait wait wait forgot about the whole moral victory thing and how satisfying England's world cup performance was. I want them rolled.

Far from being the first player of Pakistani descent to have visa dramas (I think Khwaja was one?) so you've gotta think it's deliberate & that ICC would do something about if only they had some balls...

Hoping for the cricket equivalent of a 9-9 draw in rugby & both teams docked points for slow over rates and/or players acting like complete cnuts.

That’s such poor batting.

Smith is the only one to get out to a good ball.

We have the most fragile batting. If Pakistan could catch they would have taken a game.
