what about if it was illegal? it sounds like it is not against the law in the ACT but I am guessing that the NRL is incorperated in Sydney. Should someone committing a criminal act be fired? How do we know he was drunk?

I didn't say you shouldn't get fired for doing something illegal. That would be a whole different issue. If you think this was illegal then call the cops ;)

It will be interesting to see where Joel ends up once this washes over.

My bet is toulon. Although he is obviously a brainless dickhead, you don't have to be smart to play footy. And he is actually a good winger when he's not giving a dog a bone...

It stopped being private when his "mates" distributed photos, and the internet/media got hold of it.
He will be fired, reports say that Gallup was going to deregister him if there was no action. Canberra will lose sponsors if they don't act.
The Board has no choice but to get rid of him.
as Liquor box says, he has bigger issues to deal with than which team he plays for next year.

Yea, that will probably happen. But i still don't agree with firing players because of what they do in their own time, whether it is pathetic or not. Players careers now rest in the hands of the media, and whether or not they find the scoops they are looking for.

Rugby League doesn't appear to be very popular in SA, maybe you have some tips on how we can get rid of it over here too:nta:

The Saffies make sure to give it the appropriate regard and welcome.

As Breaker Morant would have put it - don't make a mess of it... ;)

If the Noo Zullunders are Sheep Shaggers, WTF does this make us?

Or it is just our Mungos that are Shoe Shitters, Dog Fuckers, Arse Pokers, Drug Dealers, or Wife Beaters......?

Can I detect a new name for the ARL Kangaroos on the horizon?

Best thing about Mungoball? Keeps them away from us "elitist" civilised few.

Geez we can be such a hypocritical mob at times.

Now while I'm well aware that there was a certain degree of tongue in cheek there Hugh. I have been raised to be weary of those who are quite and calculated rather than transparent. Generally, It's those type of people who are the ones that are doing the scheming and worse, are vindictive.

Call it what you will if you all feel better about yourselves but I reserve the right to be more cautious with my wayward finger pointing. It might be an age thing...I don't know :nta:;)

Ah the all too familiar league patterns emerges. Player does something disgusting, player apologies. Mates and administrators talk about good record and the general good blokedness of said individual. Next said player will appear on TV and read a prepared statement (which he could never write himself because in most cases, these guys can't really write). All will be forgiven as he has been "humiliated enough" and "such a good bloke for fronting up".

Let the dogs do the dogs. Even that appears to make them sick (as can be seen at the end of the video):

Found your car yet? Your brain must be in the back seat.

Insults are irrelevant. Whats your problem? Want to add to the discussion or just accuse anyone who doesn't think this is a crime against humanity of not having a brain?

The dude forced his dick into a dogs mouth. For once this isn't a media beat up because he is a sports star. I can only remember two cases of bestiality to come up in the news and both were widely reported and the person was named and shamed.

The first one involved a duck who died from internal injuries and a now unemployed teacher.
The second one involved a man and a shitzhu, I thought it was a nice touch that the paper reported the dog still apparently liked him.

Okay I'll add some more:

Any stupid fuck who shoves his dick in a dog's mouth deserves all the heat they get and more.

Happy now?

There is a long history of accusations of sexual misconduct involving professional league players but none has ever been sustained. Based on all precedents the player will be able to successfully plead:

a) the act was consensual;

b) the dog was not modestly dressed;

c) it had a history of sexual promiscuity; and

d) by going into a house where a drunken party was going on it should have known what to expect.
