Murray wasn't though. Genia is some player but Murray more than held his own. Already the best scrum half I have seen out of Ireland, could end up in the Bod, POC, Gibson, Kyle echelon.

Well I didn't attend any of the tests but did the Reds Lions match. To put it into context when you have to travel some distance to attend first class rugby, it is always something unique and special. Having being part of this series with my attendance at the game, it was just something very special. Just an amazing environment and meeting heaps lions supporters at the game and in the pub was awsome. The vibe was just unforgetable and the blokes just friendly and willing to have a beer with and chat about rugby sensational.

I loved every minute of it and thanks for the memories. An AFL mate of mine came down with me and out of the experience another rugby tragic was born. Watching the tests at his place you could see he was hooked on the game.

Thanks to all the fans that made our trip so awsome

I wish I could re live the experience honestly.

No he hasn't. Now where is the worlds smallest violin?
He has.
Although I think it is a nonsense to buy into a franchise and then spit the dummy when it does something you don't like, the palaver over BOD has affected the Lions support in Ireland. You can try and pretend that yesterday's result affected that but if there is one generalisation about Irish folk that I know to be true it is that we have long memories. As I have posted, credit to Gatland for yesterday but as someone who would like to see the Lions brought to an end I hope he is put in charge of the NZ tour.

as an after, think I'll support the wallabies this championship,
Good on you Dai, but you really have to, if Wallabies win the Championship makes Lions look even better, if they lose, Lions just another team that beat them during year:p

I see Phillips is talking about considering his test future in order to get another contract/club. He's got one year to go at Bayonne and is worried he will be less marketable if he's still playing for Wales.

I'd say it would be a good move for him to go before he is pushed. He's a favourite for Gatland, but even he'll lose patients with him if his performances don't improve above what he's produced in the last year or so and especially in this Lions series.

If he does it now, it will at least give Wales a chance to get someone new settled in for the RWC.

Still feeling hungover from Saturday, great day.

Alex Corbiserio has to be the man of series, there was a huge shift in momentum from when he went off in Brisbane to coming back on Saturday, the Lions probably couldn't believe their luck that they got Roman Poite to referee either. Makes the fact that Vunipola was selected ahead of him originally look ridiculous.

I think there is a lot of lessons to be learnt from this tour, winning shouldn't gloss over some of the poor tactics and selection. Also I think no current national coach should take the job as it leaves the tour open to accusations of conflicts of interest etc. The BOD selection didn't matter in the end as the Lions could have had Eastern Suburbs Under-8 B's outside that dominant scrum and they would have won!

Can't believe Gatland is saying he wouldn't mind the gig for the NZ tour in 4 years time! Now that is a poisoned chalice is there ever was one

He's been a good servant to Wales but the Welsh backline will prosper more by having a 9 who can deliver quicker ball.

I'm 37, an ex-prop, and can do a passable Welsh accent, or English if you want me to take the Charvis route.

And I'm damn sure I can clear the ball quicker than him.

So, because he didn't play your favourite player you guys throw your toys out the cot? Sorry, but fans like that need to grow up.
Read my post, I agree it is crazy to support the Lions franchise and chuck your toys when it does something you don't like but you cannot pretend that the decision has not affected lions support in Ireland whether you like it or not. If the Irish rugby public were to come out and make it clear that they don't want Irish players going on Lions tours they wouldn't go on Lions tours because the game in Ireland is centralised and essentially owned by the supporters. We are no where near that stage yet but to just say the supporters need to grow up is to fail to understand how Irish rugby works.

Well every time a NH side puts some real pressure on you SH types you do seem to play a little better, add to that a new coach coming in and the extra effort playeers seem to bring to the fore is considerable, I will stick my neck ever so slightly out and say 2-1 to the aussies against you this championship

I think I stated at the beginning of the tour that corbisero would be the lions first choice LH, as for player of the series this is a joke yeah?
Poor tactics and selections, well selections for sure, What on earth did bowe offer, so to heaslip, Felatau had a first class game and should have been there from the start.
Once gats back was against the Wall he picked a side he knew would deliver and they did spectacularly, gone were the politics of picking players from every country to appease the populous of the home nations and its journalists,
All-though gats has been vilified by you and other members of your country men, there are those that realise he made the right choices and have congratulated him and his team.
1/2 penny was rightly picked as the player of the series, Jamie Roberts in SA, must really be peeing you orf.:D

Dai if you are just going to pick all the players from one nation why not just play Australia as that nation? Personally I think it would have been a lot better if Wales could beat Aus by themselves and we could stop pretending that we all like each other when it is patently obvious that we don't. Anyway, probably be back on here in November, enjoy the quad nations, I will be interested to see how Australia get on, I suspect they might struggle but you never know.

Well, again I'm not meaning to sound harsh, but I'm just going to say it like I see it. You're going to be in for a lot of disappointments and sulking if you think that all coaches should always pick the players you want.

If everyone took that attitude, we'd have no supporters at all. And what I find most charming, is that every one of the armchair coaches knows, absolutely knows, how their picks and their game plan would have definitely worked and been the right one. Never mind that the guy next door in his armchair knows, absolutely knows, that your picks and plan are stupid, and his are correct.
