Number 7 jack farrel actually made it on the bench in that queensland team, wouldnt see him in the red team, definitely in the white team though. Wouldnt be supprised to see Hewat 6 or 7 considering that is his true position. Only playing 5 at nudgee due to no other locks.

Everyone when picking the QLD under 16's Red team seem to just think THAT ONLY GPS BOYS ARE GOING TO MAKE IT.

My Prediction

2. Josh Webb
3. Enoka Kalapu
4. Angus Scott-Young
5. Recce Hewat
6. Matt Sautia
7. Jack Farrell (Qld under 15 repesented)
8. Kyle Leofa
9. Eli Pliz
10. Alex Horan
11. Tyrone Southen
12. Calvin Pritchard
13. Iziah Perese
14. Clifton Setu
15. Tiaan Wilkins
16. Johaan Kootz

Certainly going to be interesting to watch Ben Gunter playing BBC 1st XV this week against Leofa from Terrace.

2. Josh Webb (Churchie 1st XV)
3. Enoka Kalapu (State High 1st XV)
4. Darcy Swain (BBC 1st XV)
5. Reece Hewat (Nudgee 1st XV)
6. Cooper McKenzie (TSS 16 As)
7. Matt Suita (State High 1st XV)
8. Kyle Leofa (Terrace 16a's)
9 Eli Pills (Nudgee 1st XV)
10 Tyler Campbell (TSS 16As)
11 Kalyn Ponga (Churchie 15As)
12 Calvin Pritchard (Nudgee 1st XV)
13 Tiaan Wilkins (BBC 1st XV)
14 Tyrone Southen (State High 1st)
15 Iziah Perese (Churchie 1st XV)
16Johaan Kootz (Ipswich Grammar)
17 Shambecker Vui (Ipswich)
18 Toby Greenup (TSS 1st XV and 16As)
19 Lucas Palmer (BBC 1st XV)
20 Pat Dooley (BGS 1st XV)
21 Harry Nucifora (Churchie 1st XV)
22 Alex Horan (Terrace 1st XV)
23 Jim Henjack (State High 1st XV)

Not sure if Queensland will split the two halfbacks into the two teams or keep them together, likewise for all other positions.

I'd defiently put Ben Gunter in instead of Lucas Palmer, Cooper Mckenzie and Toby Greenup anyday mate.

People may not be aware of Ben Gunter. He plays seriously good rugby and was a member of the same NSW U15 team that Reece Hewat was last year that beat Qld U15 by 29-0. As well he is a wonderful young man who is humble but has formed some very productive relationships with his Grade 10 mates at school.

Dont forget Christian Malaulau 7/6, Jerumi Nanai 14 and Sam Edwards 11 all from BBC, certainly fine fast mobile players also in the first XV

While most of these guys are playing First XV for their respective schools, I would just say that do not underestimate the abilities of the TSS u16's not playing in Firsts due to the talent in front of them. This team is currently smashing all before it and I believe that a good half dozen of these players will make Red or White teams.

I agree. I was at the TSS U16A game on the weekend, and they do have some talent there. They have some great backs and a couple of really good fowards. The halfback in that team from what I saw would a real contender. Not sure what his story is but he can play. Same for the outside centre.

Does anyone know who these two are, because they are a couple of guys to watch out for.

did anyone else actually go to the trials on sunday? some boys from country, AIC and state high schools were great and should make this team. Sure mostly GPS but there are some very good big forwards and sharp backs out there

A selection headache for the selectors by the sounds of it. How have the tirals been running on Sundays?

Half back is Jordan Lenac. A local, who also plays for Palm Beach Currumbin.
Outside centre is apparently Dylan Riley, but not 100% about that.

Everyone nominated by there school or club trials except for GPS players, they get picked from school games. A bit unfair on the Non GPS boys really

Week 1 4 teams played a few games against each other after warm up drills, line out calls etc..
Week 2 squad cut by a few then enough for 3 teams games played after warm up drills, plays decided and line out calls etc
Week 3 squad cut by a few. GPS forwards were required for line out and scrum drills. Forwards did this for just over an hour. The backs did a few drills separately to the forwards. GPS forwards left.
Then 3 teams of non-GPS trialled but only one game and players rotated on and off.

I think 5 non GPS players will make the RED side. Flanker, 2nd Row, centre, FB & winger. not sure who they are except for the fullback.

It was published earlier that the two u16 Qld teams were to be announced yesterday. Anyone know what is causing the delay?

Queensland Schools U15 Championships are this weekend so maybe they are awaiting a final view of the U15s to see if anyone stands out

Good point. You would think the detail of the u15 state champs was known way before they published the first team announcement date.

Selectors may not be happy with depth of this age group.
