OK - we are talking about scholarships again.

Do that in the scholarships thread.

Any further posts that touch on it, or quotes somebody who does the same, even in one sentence, will be zapped.

No it's not a democracy.

The call him the pied piper because all the young boarders follow him around. I wish him well at the Broncos. In all the fanfare about the tries on Saturday - no one has mentioned his goal kicking. that 1st penalty was right on halfway was it not ??

It was not right on halfway, 45metres would be clear-cut precisely

And how good was Josh on Saturday? a big bounce back from GT the week prior - our comp would be all the poorer without the likes of him playing such entertaining football - all skill, speed, swerve and sizzle - thank goodness for scholarships - lets hope he returns to Union after his pending stint in league.
That's great but my spies told me his attitude during and after the gt game was less than desired for such a supposed leader!!

Well I'm just glad that BBC are coming back after that loss and what a cracker of a game. Mate I'll tell you, that was a game to remember, the crowd were roaring! Seems as though they've done we'll for themselves. Noticed a couple players are still missing and BBC still doesn't let up. Lucas Palmer continues to be out of the picture; if you ask me I'm quite glad. He was a shocker for mistakes and a keen runner to get smashed every run he makes. Sitting on the sideline week after week, game after game I've noticed the potential in Lucas Palmer, he definitely would be a great standout in under13 rugby! I mean sure he'd be 3years older but that's where I see him making big impacts. My father himself stands 5ft11', 62yrs old, couldn't believe to see him make a run on, let alone make a Qld side. I'll tell who is good though, that Joshua Bowyer-Bowen mix with Conrad Quick aren't they a talented two combined. I love my rugby and they just hand it to me on a gold platter; two names to remember to look out for Joshua Bowen and Conrad Quick.

With all this talk about BBC rugby, it surprises me noone has mentioned the entertaining little darty halfback from BBC Max Dempsey. His passing mate I'll tell you, second to none! It's so exciting to see such a talent of his caliber and size makes it all the more ravishing . At the end of the day entertainment is what I love in rugby and that Max Dempsey sure does deliver!

Quick question. I missed a couple of posts when I replied to a post, and reading this I accept that my post was deleted. Would the people I replied to have received my comment? Purely out of interest. Can I suggest a system upgrade so that if comments are seen as out of thread, you can push them to the correct thread?

I suggest an upgrade in people reading the forum rules especially post #8 in this link:

http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/community/threads/rules-of-the-schoolboy-forum.5407/

I have done a few moves of posts in prior years but it was counter-productive because then people knew they could skate around the matter and get a comment in by the side door.

Then people would respond by doing the same and the acrimony would start up again.

It just wasted my time - I don't know that other moderators bothered.

It would be different if we were paid to do it and it was our job—we would be looking for work—but it is not: we are volunteers who love the sport enough to moderate a rugby forum like this.

Tough love works better: when people realise they have wasted their time and not ours, because their efforts have been zapped and their audience is lost to them, their behaviour changes.

When in doubt use the Scholarships thread—it is easy to find—and don't mix the topic in with a post because the whole lot will be lost.

Time to get off the soapbox.

LG out.

Gotta love it when the infamous lee grant deletes posts from his Sydney g n g base

Let's be clear about one thing - LG is not 'infamous'; he is pure and simply famous.

And rightly so - his contribution to this place over many years has no peer in terms of wide knowledge and constructive, amusing and insightful rugby commentary.

Rumour has it that current 16A coach will be stepping up into the position next year.
Surely they will advertise ... Considering the state of their program a new influence would be welcomed... The 16a results of bSHS are very ordinary and from a reliable source over that way the players aren't even turning up to some training due to a number if reasons ... Does that point to coach player relations or the program itself???

Good call mr oracle. Playing fullback all last year (7 ties) and twice this year I do not recall him kicking except for his own chip and chase. He always runs it back . Bit like Campese- 5 good things a match and 2 errors but all excitement. But the best thing is that like Dane Gagai before him( now at Newcastle knights) BBC has turned him into a real leader and role model for indigenous boys.PS his brother starts in grade 8 at BBC next year.

Nice article about Dane Gagai in today's courier mail.Wayne Bennett has some nice things to say about his leadeship.Another example of how indigenous scholarships can help young boys realise their potential(and NO it was not school funded but Govt funded!)Congrats to BBC and their Indigenous,TI & PI program as it realy seems to be kicking some goals on and off the rugby field and in the classroom .

Correct. You will never know which Josh will turn up.He did kick the ball that day but it bounced off his own players head and gt scored a try.

What a fantastic team. Obviously I can only comment on the GPS players amongst them, but I imagine a team looking anything like this could threaten at the championships.

I've picked Reece Hewatt, Dean Bender and Tyrone Southron out of position, but I had to juggle to fit the good (GPS) players on the pitch.

With halfbacks, I though Pilz played well in the first game of the season in wet conditions, and he definitely didn't disappoint against Southport. But I hear he was outplayed when Nudgee played Churchie, and I haven't seen Nucifora play. So it's a marign call

1. Gavin Luka
2. Kyle Leofa
3. Josh Webb
4. Angus Scott-Young
5. Darcy Swain
6. Connor Moroney
7. Jackson Evans
8. Reece Hewatt
9. Eli Pilz/Harry Nucifora
10. Alex Horan
11. Tuaina Tualima
12. Calvin Pritchard
13. Izaia Perese
14. Dean Bender
15. Tyrone Southron
