I just did........
On average he seems to make less tackles than anyone in our backrow.........
Edit: He did have a couple of games earlier in the RC where he was one of our top tacklers, but there weren't a lot of tackles being made in the pack......... and his % seems high because he doesn't attempt as many tackles as others..........

Shame, Timani and Simmons could have given Horwill a rest. Fardy might be the reserve lock at this rate.

I expect a heavy workrate from our locks.......
His completion rate is higher because he attempts less tackles:
Simmons: 48/53 (91%) 7 tests (518mins)
Horwill: 34/49 (69%) 5 tests (365mins)
Fardy 64/71 (90%) 5 tests (360 mins) *only played 9 mins in Bled I

It's a shame that Horwill isn't having a much deserved rest.......
This could've been the opportunity to have a locking pair of Fardy/Timani, shifting Mowen to 6 and leaving McCalman at 8........
The lineout might not be as strong, but it might stiffen up the scrum (would require Robinson at LH) and I'd bet we'd see a back 5 with a high workrate and more impact........

From Jamie Pandaram on Rugby Gold. And a rock in defence too, strange that because I thought he was leaking tackles. Guess I'm seeing one-eyed because I'd rather see Timani in there for him. Guess I will get my wish this weekend.

No Simmons is a loss from my point of view. He put the Blacks under pressure at the lineout last week, I think he is starting to come into his own as a test player and I see him as a starter come the WC. Also I think that prevent us benching Horwill.
I expected we'd have a major advantage in the lineouts following Parlings withdrawal. Show be pretty even now.
Timani will at least mean our scrum should be rock solid, which is the most important thing at Twickenham.

The only statistically significant results are Simmons and Fardy over Horwill.
His workrate is lower but that has no bearing on his completion stats. If someone wants to post tackles from each game played I can post a box plot which will be a lot more useful in trying to determine tackle rate. But to do it properly we need to look at lineouts and ruck involvements also.

It seems the injury to Simmo has given Horwill a reprieve. A new captain must have been announced (if Horwill wasn't playing)
Question now is who will be captain - Horwill or Ben Mowen or Genia. Fuck, the dynamics of that choice could be huge. Reckon Genia should not be burdened with the responsibility of captaincy - let him just concentrate on HIS game - the team will do so much better if he plays well.
