For a long time many have touted Walsh as being the best ref in the world....i just dont see it. The pinnicle was the last RWC final. He was diabolical.

Say what? Walsh didn't ref the last RWC Final, that was Joubert. Are you trying to say that Joubert's refing of that was the pinnacle? If so, of what? If not, what exactly are you trying to say?

Ooops!! My mistake lol. Walsh the kiwi now ozzie. my opinion still stands with Joubert sorry.
I didnt watch the reds/brumbies game but I generally think Walsh is usually ok for a kiwi.

As a generalization, Reds' fans take the prize for being the most whining in Aus. There are some notable exceptions, @TWAS and @Ash - maybe more but by and large the indignation that comes through in many posts is just very hard to take. It's a game. Get over it.
See, that's funny. Because if we talk generalisations I always found that the Brumbies supporters have amongst there numbers the most arrogant & insufferable supporters. Should I then post on here that, by extension that most of you are the same? Or do I more logically assume that the majority are fine and there is a vocal minority whose enthiusiam effects their objectivity.

All right, I've tried to put a lid on this going postal, so let's move along and not get a flame war happening.
Cheers, folks.

Traitor? Well that's mature.

Stephen Moore is a traitor, in the same vein as Berrick Barnes.

They grew up supporting the Reds, went to large rugby nurseries, and were gifted opportunities ahead of many other fantastic junior footballers. When the going got tough, these blokes where the ones who could have pulled us out of it, except they decided to desert ship. It was all too hard.

Maybe it's difficult for you to understand that, as you rely on these players coming to your club - but that is the way it is. Best example of this was when he sympathised with the Reds plight and argued with Giteau.

Oh I get it now. You mean the way the Fainga'a's went to the Reds. Damn traitors. ;)

No, I don't.

Saia left because you had no room for Anthony.

Stephen left because we were at the bottom of the table.

That's a massive oversimplification.

He left because he was a player on the rise, we were on the bottom of the table and most importantly, that didn't look like changing and the club appeared to be a shambles in general.

Moore seemed happy to ride out the rough times at the brumbies so you can't claim he runs around jumping on the favourites.

The same could be said for Barnes.

Im pretty sure the two twins who helped you win in 2011 wouldn't like to be called traitors and probably dare I say together more important then Moore would have been too winning the title.

Goes both ways.. Queensland aint the be all and end all in Aus rugby

Haha - you're kidding aren't you?

At-least 10 of your senior squad played their schoolboy rugby in QLD.
Probably as many from NSW, and then a healthy sprinkling of Saffas. Doesn't leave much does it?

I know a few Hurricanes fans who would beg to differ on Walsh. As for Joubert, please tell me you don't subscribe to the theory that he was on a mission and/ or under IRB orders to ensure that NZ won that Final? If I've completely misread your posts then fine, but that's what "diabolical" suggests.

Not living up to your profile name are you buddy? I thought we'd got over the whole "super rugby isn't state of origin" thing.

I thought that it was quite widely known that Moore left because of a falling out with one of the coaches at the time, not because of where the Reds were on the ladder.

Okay, let's spell it out then. The reason QLD has bigger crowds, and more members is because on top of great marketing and recent success their is a closer link to players and the development pathways.

How is the average supporter from Canberra supposed to feel anything for the Brumbies when their is under 5 players from Canberra in the squad? There is no emotional connection. You're club culture literally comes from taking other states players, almost no Brumbies player's grow-up supporting the Brumbies.

Same too with NSW, who have such a disconnect with their pathway system and their top team. Locals players are constantly shafted for a quick fix from interstate or abroad.

WA is the most exciting development in the Australian rugby environment, and could actually be the state to save the game. They are developing good players, have built good infrastructure, and are building good crowds.

WA will soon leapfrog ACT as the third most likely breeding ground for Wallabies, if it hasn't already.

QLD fans have a reason to feel aggrieved because we are so much more connected to the entire process of developing players from Junior rugby to Schools to Premier rugby to Super rugby. Then the surplus goes interstate, comes back and beats the side that they grew up supporting and the average interstate fan looks at a Reds fan and says sucked in. It's like the iceberg metaphor, you are only looking at the last 5-10% of the players development.
