Don't build BBC up too much or "the curse" will happen BUT:
1) Sam Edwards did play in Qld under 16 maroon winning team in Nationals(not shown on the list);
2) James Horwill was at BBC last week & Leyland & Taumoa-Swain were every bit as tall as him(6 foot 6);
3) that new Olympic rowing coach who is doing rugby fitness takes no shit & is flogging them.

May the curse be over.Anyone know a witchdoctor??

Young man - I admire your school spirit but the 16 B And C teams count for nought when looking at depth for a first. Xv which is usually comprised of the very best 16 & 17 yr old s and more and more 18!year olds.
If the Terrace 2 nd xv win more than 4 matches I will,go nude in queen st

hahaha good cause i guarantee it will happen, only competition is nudgee and maybe a few others may come close but 4 games.... plz

also from what I have noticed from your recent posting you seem to be a BBC boy, if this is true i can clearly remember terrace 16B's getting up the BBC's 16 B's by 10 tries

Excellent investigating GPS selector, it seems you've solved the mystery!

GSP must be a year 10 troll from BBC who has just discovered the forum... One who remembers the name of the 1954 BBC Rugby captain, as well as the name of his two sons and grandsons, who's been a valuable contributor to this forum for the last 2-3 years.

By the way, congratulations on last years thrashing of the BBC 16Bs! I think you're spot on in predicting an undefeated premiership for the Terrace Seconds, too. Nudgee, Southport, BBC, Churchie, and the rest will undoubtedly be cowering in their boots

Gee pal - if Terrace are relying on the 16B result of last year to have some bearing on the 1st xv result - they are in deep shit .with the number of Sunnybank boys imported into terrace firsts this year ( who would normally go to BSHS ) your 16 B boys will be in the 3rds.

Dear GPS Selector.

Yes-I am a long suffering BBC supporter-but I am also a supporter of schoolboy rugby.That is why I suggested the GT team you posted was very impressive.

I am sure you are right in saying that the GT 16B wiped BBC last year.But you better be a little careful that does not come back to bite you on the arse:as the reason the BBC 16 age group was weak last year(the 15 A s were undefeated) was because up to eleven under 16 year players were playing in the first xv. And they are all back this year -with 3 or 4 boys who are turning 18 years old this year.

You see Mr GPSS-to win a GPS premiership there are at least 3 non-negotiables that always occur at the business end of the season when injuries add up:
1)you need at least 25 players of first xv standard(talk to the BBC and Churchie coaches of 2012);OR
- you need a great run of minimal injuries(talk to the BGS coaches of 2012);
2)you need a minimum of 6 to 8boys who will be age18 that year (ask the TSS coach of 2013 why NC beat them at home on old boys day);
3) you need 3 or 4 brilliant under 15 players from the year before that can step up to 1st xv.

TSS & NC do this almost every year.So while the number 1 run on side for GT looks great -I do not see the 3 above factors at GT this year.

But given GT play BBC in the last match of the year at BBC "on old boys day"-I will be very interested in how your 16 Bs from last year step up.

GSP its well known that NC had several 16yr olds and one 18yr old in their winning squad last year. Ask the NC coach bud. Alot of talk from BBC. Can't wait they take on the might of TSS.

Round 1 at Southport: it will be interesting. They do meet beforehand twice, once at the GPS trials and once in a pre-season fixture.

Very intresting talk. A few things I've got from this page and talk around the schools is"

1. BBC have the most competitve squad in years and could be classed as early favourites for the 1st and 2nd XV.
2. Terrace has little or no depth in key positions missing a props to match with Leofa in the fowards along with a second row.
3. Nudgee will have a red hot backline with Mafi leading them up front
4. Ippy and State High both have several returning players and a few hot shots from the year below.
5. Grammar has a few league's I believe which could be handy or disappointing.
6. TGS and TSS have had little gee ups and TSS are always really competitive.
7. Churchie also are welcoming back some returning players and are always classed as a favourite early on.

Personally I think Churchie will contest: again, the GPS trails will be interesting.
I agree - on paper Churchie have the best team - if the number 1 team stay fit. But then againTSS with their 6 or seven 18 years olds and masses of state players were clearly the best team on paper last year.
That Churchie centre combination is lethal.
In a years time - how many of these boys will be NRL under 20 .??
Josh Bowen- Boyer is killing it at Broncos and regularly helps out his brother in grade 7 and the indigenous boys at BBC .
Great line from his little brother the other day" there are more boys at BBC than there are people in my whole town!!"

Would love to see some Churchie team predictions.

On returning players, the team might look something like this:

1. Will Bailey?
2. Josh Webb
3. Richie Asiata
4. Angus Scott-Young
5. Jeremy Gimpel
6. Liam Wright
7.
8.
9. Harry Nucifora
10. Mack Mason
11.
12. Izaia Perese
13. Jayden Sua
14. Hugo Doessel
15. Ben Ogilvie

Not a bad team at all, but questions are there about back row stocks with Digger McMillan, and Harley Fox moving on.

EDIT: Kalyn Ponga will be in the mix as well, presumably in the back three

GSP I admire your spirit but I think you may be a little optimistic...
Nudgee to win the premiership again much to the distain of the green white and black.

How old is this league post? Certain Lanskey is out for the year & thought Kalyn Ponga was @ Churchie?

Spoke to Lanskey a few weeks ago and he informed me that he would be ready to train last week.

Ponga at BBC was a typo on my behalf, thanks for picking it up

Mr Red& Black
You have taken me out of context;
There is a difference between "talking" & "talking it up".
I have consistently said that on paper I pick:
1.Churchie;
2.NC;
3.BBC or TSS

Although I note BBC play NC & Churchie at home and surprisingly BBC continue to be the bogey team for Churchie with 2 wins & a draw from last 4 years(just as GT appears to be the bogey team for BBC).

God that year that GT"brought" in Digby Ione (full fee paying of course!!) for the centenary year at BBC was a nightmare.Was it 3 or 4 tries Digby scored?
