It is what it is

World class Golfers work hard on developing a swing that will hold up under pressure.
At the moment Foley does not have a kicking style that will deliver consistency.
Does anyone notice how little if any follow through he has?
He is currently a stab kicker.

Next week will be interesting. Can the Chiefs counter that power and get their own game to work? Right now I think they'll come up short, home ground advantage notwithstanding.

The fundamentals of the Tahs game have come back. They totally dominated the Rebels who had absolutely no answer to the Tahs power game. Too many big fast men running at the line with switching, dummying and running angles. Looked like a team from first grade playing a team from second grade. The Tahs just kept waiting till a break came and then powered through.
  • That's the best game I've seen Phipps play. He was always there, always sniping, hitting his runners. Almost all his passing hit the mark. If he did that every week then Genia and White would be fighting over the bench. He must maintain that level next week.
  • Alofa looked good even though not a lot came his way. He should start next week.
  • The place kicking was off tonight but I believe a week of training will iron out the bugs.
  • Beale and Foley running things are an opposition's nightmare. The board comments here criticised the Rebels defence. Defending into a runaway diesel I thought they did pretty good work. They were certainly not a disgrace. As Bob says, "Perfect attack will always prevail over a good defence".
  • Lineout was good. Scrum was average and I think Kepu must start next week. Wish TPN had been rested earlier, he will be key next week. His lineout throws improved greatly.
  • Douglas, Jackpot, Skelton all played well. Hard to know who to bench next week.
Sharks are 5 points but one game ahead of us. Dare to dream that we can put four on the Chiefs at home and we will be close enough to come over the top of the Sharks in the games after the break. They don't score many four try bonus points.

Yeah he stabbed through 7 from 7 last week. *RMFE*

He had an off night, but he needs to sort that shit out because off nights are the difference between winning and losing too often, even if its only once every ten games.

Nice to have the comfort of a 20 point win, with a lot of points left out there, and only one 10-point turnaround try against you, but he definitely needs to work on consistency if he's going to be a Test kicker.

Already covered by my conspiracy theory in the Waratahs 2014 thread Hawko.

Shorks are first all day long

Ya paddy Ryan is not great. Very surprised he is in the wobs add ons. I really don't think he's that great around the park either.
Toby smith is very impressive
Our defence around the ruck has been shocking this second half

Link intimated that he was put in the squad back-up to give the coaches a chance to work on his scrummaging. If that doesn't fix him its a big investment down the drain.

The Brumbies or the Sharks might have coped with that tonight, but most teams would have folded worse. The Rebels never gave up.

Good win, two weeks in a row the opps just haven't looked like scoring a try conventionally

Toby should be in the Wobs ahead of Pek.
Do you not remember what Pek did the Ryan a few weeks back? Made him look like a school boy when he can on with about 20 mins to ago when Pek had been going for 60mins.

Mind you neither Pek nor smith should be there Longbottom is the unlucky one.

Hoopers try should have been a scrum reset ball came out the same hole not sure how a super rugby standard ref could miss that......

WTF?

Where do I start.

Firstly, a lovely bottle of St Hallets is sitting empty beside the couch, so please forgive me....

Tah's monstered the Rebs tonight in all facets of the game. I actually thought the Rebs were lucky with only one sin bin. They were slowing down the ball at rucks constantly. Scrums were a bit of a lottery until Kepu came on then it was bye bye Rebs scrum. To me this week the major difference was the backs. The tah's backs were just streets ahead of the Rebs. And coming from a former forward that is tough to admit.

I think Phipps did well, Foley should start for the Wallabies along with AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Horne. Folau seemed to be trying too hard but worked it out in the end. I just loved Horne's contact with WoodwArd in the try.

Skelton is just a freak (in the most awesome way). He lifted the tah's when he came on and not just bent the line but smashed it.

6 tries to 1, and that was a lucky one at that. Rebs were completely outplayed and probably should hAve lost by 50 if kicks were on song and Folau hadn't passed to no-one.

Brums will do well to get a BP and I reckon tah's will be in the box seat to top the conference and a top 2 finish.

The Foley/Beale/Folau combination is frightening well it clicks. So many running options for the 5/8 to choose from.

Well done Tahs, dominated every facet.

Not sure it did, looked like it went under the front row's feet then he grabbed it, but I have not watched a replay to confirm. I am pretty sure it was not straight out the same tunnel though.

If you watch the front on replay it shows clearly coming out the tunnel right into Hoopers lap.

Good Guys are on 16. The other mob are on 9 from 3 <yawn> kicks at goal.

Short memory from when you guys (not the good guys) use to play the most boring unattractive rugby.

We where useless tonight, no fight from anyone. I know everybody hates Higgers for his wrestling and pushing the boundary's of the ref and opposition but we play a lot better when he does. Was it cause he shaved the beard?

Thought we where dominating the scrum and than the ref didn't stop penalizing us.

Thought Hooper was MOTM. Jones was solid but nothing special, can't see skeleton being able to cope with the speed of test match rugby. Might work as a super sub but his no where near starting.

Horne is playing the best rugby of his career. If Foley or Beale start at 10 for the Wobs the French will be laughing.

Rebels defense was lost with out Ellison.

The Palu v Higgers was a flop you wouldn't have even know either was on the field had we not had close ups with hands on hips during breaks in play.

Was not out the tunnel, he collected it from in front of him.

Beale try looked forward from my seats, both where directly in front of me.

In front of him? So your saying it came out on the rebels side?

And yes I agree forward pass.

Yes, a big loss. Thought Meehan did well for first start, decisive and injected himself. Inman played hard but English was largely missing.

Good play by Tahs, Horne again showed good strength, just that nagging doubt he still has meme disease.

Came through between his prop and lock. Not sure how but that's where it looked like. Was a bit confused when a he was managing to collect the ball.
