Just one criticism of a starting player.................

I'm not sure if Simmons justified his instant return to the starting lineup tonight.

Our line out was fairly average, and he wasn't as good as Horwill last week, or Carter tonight.

The lineout went OK - lost 1 on our own throw. Fainga'a was good in his role, and Simmons mixed it up well I thought. He was not as dynamic elsewhere as Carter, but I was happy enough with him. Horwill made a good impact too.

I'd criticise Tomane, He was indecisive when running the ball back. That should be his bread and butter.

The subs were mixed. Alexander was horrible but Robinson looked okay. Hodgeon made good impact. and White had good service but put in 2 shit house kicks.

Yes and we lost on our own throw as soon as Higgers went off for Hodgeson. Was always going to make things harder losing a jumper.

By the way I thought Higgers was superb whilst on the field.

Horne didn't either and I wonder if we would've had a different outcome if he was there at the end instead of Tomane.

I was surprised Tomane wasn't subbed. Maybe McKenzie was scared too since Horne didn't do too well last time he got subbed. I think he would have made a difference, he usually good at securing his own ball and that's what we needed to do in the dying minutes of the game.

To be fair I think everyone did well. I think Tomane was probably the worst out of the starting 15 but he certainly didn't do poorly he was just a bit indecisive on his kick returns.

Alexander from the bench was pretty horrible too.

But I am really proud of this team even with the loss. If we can now get the coach sorted out, their are some some good signs (at least on the field) for the future.

I don't have issue with Tomane being indecisive at the start, because he is one of the few wingers available who has genuine pace. My issue is that after he makes up his mind he ends up heading between 3 oppositionforwards, very upright. Makes it tough for his teammates to support him.

I'm sure Tomane will mature as a player and start making better decisions the more game time he has. He made some pretty good runs too, he just needs consistency.

Also Speight will be available soon, so not to worry!

good to be an abs supporter, great to see rhe wallabies choke and stuff up games, because i remember when the abs did the same thing.

We "handed them the game" by not being capable of stopping them from a 22m lineout with a minute to go. It could have been the same outcome if their penalty kick had gone out. The box kick was a shit kick but there was ample opportunity after that to stop them scoring the try.

To make that case you have to explain how we frittered away a 10 point lead: fucking box kicks, kick passes and grubbers is the answer
Where they win the lineout and maintain possession until they score.

but they need many more phases to get down there with each one chewing up time and running the risk of a turnover.
Preferred option: no kick of any type. Option B: long kick.
But i go back earlier to the fact that we started short kicking and as soon as we did we let them back into the game. Even Foley's kick pass: WTF? Hands was what was required. Its not like we only have 6 tackles in which to score. Patience.
But how can this team after what its been put through by the selfishness of players and management have enough confidence to think they can have some patience.

This no kicking run from anywhere game plan doesnt work, it means you get to the last 10 and your out on your feet. If your not fit enough..

We're not fit enough

If you're responding to me I'm not saying no kicking but i am saying no box kicks and I am saying no box kicks in your own 22.
In terms of fitness bear this in mind. Apparently the wobbly forwards under McKenzie have been running 12 kms a game. In super 15 they average 8.
This is the reason we have been running out of puff at the end of games.
