If you're responding to me I'm not saying no kicking but i am saying no box kicks and I am saying no box kicks in your own 22.
In terms of fitness bear this in mind. Apparently the wobbly forwards under McKenzie have been running 12 kms a game. In super 15 they average 8.
This is the reason we have been running out of puff at the end of games.

Just in general not at you bro. I'll have to rewatch the game. My so close but still not enough brain has been fried by Link going. I don't even remember what was a amazing game.

I just think we have been running and tackling too much. The whole 12 k thing is what I mean

A few points:

- we didn't seem to be able to offload in close very well, a lot of time the ball runner went to ground and recycled thus slowing things down when hot on attack
- how often were the AB's offside, esp in the 2nd half....seemed like a lot, they seemed to be camped at the recipient
- with the AB's a man down they outscore us in that 10 min phase - wtf!
- Tomane makes a great catch on our line and with plenty of space then runs it straight into Messam
- for 78 minutes we consistently get over the gainline but with 2 minutes to go we can't seem to manage even going backward successfully and concede a penatly
the few kicks we did were nearly all stupid ones.

such a winnable game - so effing frustrating, but a lot of good to take from it.

To make that case you have to explain how we frittered away a 10 point lead: fucking box kicks, kick passes and grubbers is the answer


but they need many more phases to get down there with each one chewing up time and running the risk of a turnover.
Preferred option: no kick of any type. Option B: long kick.
But i go back earlier to the fact that we started short kicking and as soon as we did we let them back into the game. Even Foley's kick pass: WTF? Hands was what was required. Its not like we only have 6 tackles in which to score. Patience.
But how can this team after what its been put through by the selfishness of players and management have enough confidence to think they can have some patience.

True they would have needed a couple more phases, but they have unlimited phases and unlimited time to do it. And the ABs have the patience to do that. If there's 10 mins to go, absolutely get in a long kick to get out of your own 22, but in the last 2 mins and you're 6 up, there's no option other than to keep posession.

As I said pages ago, I would have hooked Foley for Quade as soon as he put that cross kick/pass in. In fact I'm still a little confused as to why Phipps was replaced - the best game I've ever seen him play. I would have like to see him stay on and Foley replaced by Quade.

Ok ,put in my first comments after just getting up and not rewatching game on tv!
Wallabies certainly looked like they played well for most of game, BUT there is little excuse for blowing game at end, not blaming any player, just not good enough, and perhaps All Blacks proved again why they are so good, winning a test, they didn't appear to be on top, because they just refused to lose!(and I thought the ABs played like it was a dead rubber most of game) Was still trying to get my head around game on way home when someone says on bus Link has just resigned, so perhaps helped understand result!
Pretty disappointed with crowd, we can all complain what is wrong or right with Aussie rugby, but if you not prepared to support team, you don't have a lot to complain about!!
Now perhaps I will watch game on TV and see what I change my mind on!!

We don't know how to win or know how to close out a game, the AB's have a winning culture and make winning a habit. Once they had the ball inside our half within the last minute they were always going to win.

Big mistake on my part. Worst night of 'Wallaby-watching" in my 66-year life! To compound the problem, it involved my son and the family of Brisbane Broncos-lovers that he married into. I have no problem with Kiwis supporting the All Blacks, but the level and frequency of denigrating comments about the Wallabies as a team, and about individual players, and about Link, was relentless, and hurtful, and given their knowledge of the fact that Mrs Doug and I are such passionate Wallabies fans, made for a miserable night. The "saddest" scenario, was that our Son, a former Rugby player of ability, whom Mrs D and I had invested years of our time and money in, was barracking for the ABs after having a $10 online bet @ $1-91 for the Blacks to win by more than 6.5 points!
I told him that he had "sold his soul for 30 pieces of silver"!!

After all that crap, the score was almost inconsequential! I was so proud of our players, digging in after all the "garbage" that had been heaped on 'The Group' over the last two weeks.

I got home (after only consuming 3 x half glasses of wine over 24 hours, and driving 50 kms), to discover (via ABC radio news), that Ewen had resigned that morning, and once I 'signed in' to G&GR, couldn't post, scroll, or sign off, as everything was 'jammed', (so I haven't read any posts from the match, after the match, or regarding the loss of Link).

So, did the sun shine more brightly this morning? No, because Mrs D and I are fighting over what happened last night, and my future relationship with our son! (I did tell him last night, that I won't be changing my Will tomorrow, to exclude him), but he knows that things aren't "good" between us at the moment!

I'm sorry to 'heap' my problems on you good folk (my "fair dinkum" Rugby family), but I feel that I just need some "Wallabies Love"!!

It's almost worth reconsidering that decision on not rewriting the will but at least you can remind Doug Jnr that he didn't get his $10.91 of silver for his fickle soul.

The Men in Gold did good, and for the most part it was a cracking game. Frustrating as buggery but good to see the Men in Gold running and rucking with confidence and putting the NZL team under pressure for most of the game.

I reckon that The Lords Of Darkness will not be very happy with the NZL performance even though they had the composure/luck to score more points than us and win the game at the death.

As I said in the article on the front page - I couldn't give any of our players less than A for effort. Yeah White's box kick was crap, but FFS how bad were our forwards in the last few minutes getting into contact upright and not securing ball?

We've got a big entitlement problem in Australian Rugby, which is why we find ourselves without a coach right now, and a bunch of players who are holding the game to ransom.

When it comes to extra training, why would they? No-one is going to take their position. This incident with Beale shows that the players get what they want, and the ARU hasn't the balls to tell them to fuck off.

Cheika isn't going to touch the job unless he gets carte blanche. And that will never happen, because despite the governance changes the ARU brought in, it would seem NSW still hold too much sway.

There is an old proverb that says there are three sides to any story: yours, mine, and the truth. Everyone's version of events will be coloured by their perception.

The truth could have been available if Beale had been man enough to step up and admit his mistake to the senior management group as soon as he realised the offence he'd caused.

MarkJ, I agree, but I would have said, "It was miss-management that Cooper wasn't on the field"! A fresh Quade v tired All Blacks, 'the mind boggles'.
