I'm sorry that your getting annoyed, dru.

To reiterate what I said earlier, I'm not motivated enough to find the particular instances where I have seen it because I know what I have seen, and it isn't really that important to me to convince people otherwise. I just don't want to see it again.

I am happy for you to put in an equal amount of effort to me in figuring out what I'm talking about as well.

I've seen it on the field numerous times and a number of you guys haven't.

Ps: don't get annoyed over the internet - I make that mistake all the time and it's shit.

Anyone read through the Annual Report? It references the QRU Strategy for 2016-2020. Some pretty stretch goals - good for them - now achieve them!

To that end, the QRU’s 2016-2020 strategy turns our attention to four major pillars:
  1. Fans and Participation Growth: We will continue to engage and build demand by placing the fan and participant at the centre of all we do. By 2020 we will aim to have the largest fan base in world Rugby, the largest contact and regular participation base in Australian Rugby and to be the largest recreational contact sport in Queensland.
  2. Football Performance: Through our high-performance structures we will secure sustainable on-field success and aim to be a consistently performing Top 6 finisher in Super Rugby.
  3. Commercial Growth: To deliver investment and rate of return. We aim to continue to secure the necessary year-on-year investment into the Reds football program, the community game and to also achieve a 23% growth in annual turnover by 2020 - as well as to redevelop the Ballymore asset.
  4. Organisational Governance: QRU aims to provide leadership and management to its members and stakeholders under a unified governance model.

I go back to where I started, but at this stage I'm starting to get annoyed at having to do this. With respect to Quade, back up your outrageous statement. Or back off.

PS a 3s vid, or anything outside of a Red jersey doesnt create anything in this discussion.

So far its complete fluff. Im starting to get annoyed. Like annoyed. Many aspersions, no detail, and honest its not helpfull.

Huh? It's not outrageous. I'm not going to back it up either. As some other poster said, go watch about any Reds game on YouTube that they are playing in and you'll probably see what I'm talking about. If you don't, what the hell does it matter? As far as your concerned, it's just some dude on the internet's impression on a couple of ex Reds players.
Calm your farm man!

Some very lofty goals in that list!!!

Redevelop Ballymore? Is there a move to return there in the future?

I am really sketchy on the details but there were plans to redevelop it a few years back that came close to fruition. A mixed use type deal with office space, residential I think, and some other stuff that escapes me right now. I think it was a plan to better utilise the land to make it more viable. I think TOCC was pretty across it actually so may be able to provide more info.
The stadium could do with a spruce up as well but!

“It was nice to hear of the coach’s interest but I’m totally comfortable with the call I made on France from the circumstances that existed at the Reds at the time,” Gill said.

QRU already have a DA approved to redevelop Ballymore, but that was a few years ago and I imagine the aim has changed since then. It's not a redevelopment of the stadium as such, rather a redevelopment of the training/community and commercial facilities.

QRU was attempting to have the land transferred from Deed of Grant in Trust (DOGIT) to freehold land which would allow them wider scope in redevelopment. I.e Increased commercialisation or possibly subdivide parcels of the site.

I love Ballymore, loved being there as a kid sneaking into the ground across the creek, playing there/ It is the spiritual home of Queensland rugby.

BUT - it is located in a terribly bad, inaccessible area. It is a fucking nightmare to get to or from for a big match.

I suppose if Suncorp remains the main stadium for rugby (Reds and Wallabies) then OK to re-develop the joint. Suncorp has wonderful access.

My pipedream would be to have a stadium (other than Suncorp), owned by the QRU, with great access that the Reds could train and play at (with accommodation towers etc etc).

Hunt is looking sharp at the moment. Nice footwork and defence. Wouldn't mind him being around the wallaby squad

Yes I hope he gets a call up to the extended squad, he would certainly keep guys like Kuridrani and Beale honest. Maybe a bench debut as a utility covering Folau at 13 and Beale at 15.

Liam Gill was expected to be back in Week 5, does anybody know how his recovery is going? Tahs set-piece is going to really struggle against the Reds and if Gill and Slipper are back, the Reds playing at home with some confidence after last week could really give them trouble. I'd still expect the Tahs to have too much backline class in the end but hopefully a closer game than Round 1.

This backs up what I remembered. That clip I shared wasn't an egregious example, but it was one that stood out to me and was easily accessible.

In that clip, Quade dresses down Simmons for pushing an offload when he wasn't in a position to. I'm a firm believer in Quade, but it seems the ultimate hypocrisy, doesn't it? Simmons identified an opportunity to get the play moving, but misread. He gets sprayed, on national television, by the King of inappropriate offloads.

Teams have spats, but I think they're signs of dysfunctionality, not leaders pushing for accuracy. JOC (James O'Connor) and Adam Thomson last year was a symptom of this.

I'm sure the players would love to see Quade and Will back, but I can't help but think they didn't add a whole heap to the team culture when they became senior players.

That incident with Simmons is one caught on camera and one at the highest level.

Mt main point or criticism re Will was at the Reds level and the younger players who had just stepped up into the main team. I reckon that Genia would not have "bagged" Gill, Slipper, Quade, Horwill or Holmes during a game because they would have told him to fuck off. It's the younger guys that become affected by destructive criticism.

Pickle has stepped up. If Genia was to return it should be on rubbish money same for QC (Quade Cooper) ( Quade does gave one of the finest football brains running around. Unfortunately he hasn't been able to deliver consistently for a number of years. I think his star has waned),

It is time we move on and not live in past glories with past players.

Don't agree re Hunt but the rest of your post is pretty spot in. Chuck in Saia as well

I'd happily see Quade return, he could do a lot to help McIntyre improve as a mentor. I am not sold on Will coming back. I think Frisby is more then up to the task but I guess we will know for sure by years end.

If he continues to play at the level he did against then Blues then without a shadow of a doubt he is the right guy.

Not to mention there's SFA to do in/around the ground after the game is finished. While Suncorp may not have the feel of Balleymore, it sure as hell means a great night can be had as you're not stuck in traffic, or crammed like sardines in those buses. Instead you can grab a pre-match feed in Paddington or the Barracks/Caxton St then have a few drinks at a number of bars suitable for all demographics.

Moving back to Balleymore would turn people away rather than entice them.

Must cost a few more shekels to hire Suncorp for a game than it would at Ballymore.

If crowd numbers continue to spiral downwards, the beancounters would start to make the case for Ballymore sound attractive.
