I think he will stay on the wing for a while yet, the wobs moved around a lot, Foley did a lot of work @ 10, Hodge running lines in the 10/12 channel and Cooper playing wider. I expect them to continue move around and be more "fluid"

I still think Kerevi isn't the answer yet, against any decent team his defensive positioning just struggles, Folau to 13 and DHP to 15 once we can be confident in one of the wingers

I haven't done the calcs for this week but I'm pretty sure you'll stay third regardless of your Perth result UNLESS the Bokke pull off a huge upset. Even then you'd still be fourth as there's a big gap back to Wales (82.49).

The result in HamNZ did nothing to either teams ranking points, so:

Man I can't believe how people are predicting Hodge to be the next Horan or the next Little.
In a way it goes to shows how we have lost touch with the firmament. A glimpse of a non-error riddled performance and our worries are over.
I recall richard Brown's debut: he looked like the real thing..............
Those guys were world class legends for 10 years.
Hodge has played 1.75 tests and 12 Super rugby games.
Hasten slowly.

I agree still some rawness about Kerevi like the simple things of having ball in wrong arm which if was holding in his left arm would have scored. But lot to like and with some good skills coaching to fine tune those extra things he looks the goods.

Foley made some mistakes and admit I missed the intercept that led to a try (and hence he generously got 1 point from me for MOTM). But lot more positives then negatives, as showed he is a good playmaker in the middle when in form, so I now believe behind Beale offers a genuine option at 12. Hodge needs more time. I did not seem to see what he did on attack only defence, so will watch more closely next few games.

DHP - I really like would see how he goes at his Super Rugby position of FB.

I remember predicting that Tim Horan would be the next Michael Lynagh, and I was told not to be ridiculous.

I think that's actually selling him a bit short. He's got the physicality of Mortlock, but the silky skills of Horan. The boot of Chris Latham, defence of Ant Fainga'a. The intellect of Einstein, the looks of Daniel Craig.

He shouldn't just be the Wallaby 12, he should be Prime Minister.

I think the two things that kept us in the game was a decent exit strategy ((good ruck structure and Genia clearing without being charged down) even if the kicker isn't as long, he kicks from 15m up the field) and a semi functioning lineout that meant we could get our own ball

Anyone see what Etzebeth did to DHP at 1:54 on the match clock? It happens a few phases before SA's first try. He cleans DHP out from a ruck and over the try line. As he gets up his right arm rips away quickly and seemingly maliciously from DHPs face/head/neck area and DHP is left on the ground holding his head with both hands. He only just gets back to the line as Whiteley scores.

That should happen anytime a forward scrags a back who thinks they can be doing work in a ruck

Congrats to the Wallabies but the win still was not very convincing.

Plenty of positives for me but in particular Genia played his best game since 2011 - back to sniping. QC (Quade Cooper) made a difference as well.

Chek will take the win as vindication of some shitty selection choices. We shall see if he continues along similar lines.

I do think we now have a fairly settled lock combo. Douglas (although he hasn't been playing the house down), Coleman and Arnold.

Cannot wait until a real 8 steps up.

I thought Nige had a pretty average game with the whistle. There were several blatantly incorrect calls that led to us not scoring. The most egregious was what should have been a try to Sio. That ball was out, Faf had his hands on it and we were completely in the right. The other one with Habana supposedly not being the tackler and being OK to clamp onto the ball was almost as bad. Then there was Stauss being a mile offside for that intercept. I'm beginning to question what the hype is with this guy.

I watched this again in slo-mo, because I thought so too in real time. It looks like he was probably OK - just (although he may not have ever retired to "onside" completely). It's just that the rest of the defensive line was more passive and he ran straight out to stand in the Wallabies line. I must concede I was wrong.

I was sitting in line with it and didn't think he ever got properly back onside and turned earlier than the rest of the Boks.

But watching it on tv the camera didnt quite catch it and by the time Owens looks over its too late. Still a bad pass to throw.
