Does anybody have updates on the injuries of Folau, Giteau and Sio?
If Giteau isn't fit, I assume the replacement options are Beale or Toouma. Who do we prefer?
Forecast of rain today and tomorrow in Melbourne. How do you think this will affect the teams' performance? I think it will play into the Brumbies style of play, but will also equalise the difference in ability between them.
Let's leave the debate how the role of betting to another thread.
@JSR:
I am not going to touch the Kings for a couple of weeks. I am not familiar with there squad, and didn't watch either of there trial games.
The same goes for futures bets, however, I agree the Sharks are looking good...
Hey all, I have recently begun to consider that my daily analysis for tipping and fantasy competitions could be used in the betting markets too. Does anyone else have experience in Super 15 betting, or sports betting in general?
I will post the handicap's for each game for us to discuss...
Thank you for such a good response, I appreciate it. Before I try to explain my reasoning on some of the good issues raised by some, I would to explain my personal views.
For good or bad, I have always believed in rigidity in the structure of a team. I agree with Deans’ idea: “play what is in...
Topic: reiterating the importance of a ‘direct’ inside centre, with some statistical analysis.
This essay highlights nothing new, nor reveals any new information. It merely regurgitates age-old rugby wisdom, which is beginning to be lost in Australian rugby.
To win in rugby you must get...
What is everybody's thoughts on how this will affect the other off-contract stars, namely Cooper? Obviously the Reds will have more money to chuck at them, but could it make them much more resigned to leave?
I thought there was a common consensus on these forums after the WC that Australia's selection mindset should change from less 'development' based to picking to best XV for each game.
Australia's supporters seem to love the idea that any young player who has "potential" will become...
Also think that Anderson kid has potential to play Super rugby next year. Is a lethal finisher on the wing. Would like to see him play fullback for Easts this year, remember him being a U18 star there.
Would love to see this done every few years. A very optimistic count for the 22 is:
Definite: Genia
Likely: Pocock*; Mitchell; Beale and Robinson
Possible: Ioane; Horwill, Moore and Sharpe
* I would only select one 7 in the 22
Excellent second half from NSW. LG and others have already done great summaries so I will leave it at that. However, I will add that for roughly the first 20 minutes of the game the Tahs look extremely poor in defence. Kingston's wing seemed to be carved open way too easily. I watched the game...
Honestly I find it quite offensive that this question is beginning to be raised more often.
There is no simply no question whatsoever. Not only is Don the greatest batsmen of all time (Only Grace comes close), he is probably the greatest sportsman ever too.
He averages 40 more than the next...
Ah injuries are even worse than I realised. Sorry guys, rookie error there. In that case, Sharpe moves into XV and Simmons onto the bench, and Dennis retains his bench spot against Wales.
What is the general feeling regarding the team to play the BaaBaa's - full-strength or developmental? Personally, I hope Deans' starts this new mindset of doing away with the four-year cycle immediately and plays the 1st XV (some development players on the bench). Due to injuries, the squad is...
A tiered structure promotes efficiency, in any profession. The success of the CC, NPC and tiered leagues in Europe highlight that rugby is no different. It creates a system whereby players are constantly competing amongst each other, breeding a competitive environment at a high standard. Thus...
The goal of the ARU should be to make rugby Australia's national sport. This is done by boosting popularity, which is done by winning more, specifically become the best in the World. In order to achieve this, as many have pointed out, it is essential to develop another tier of rugby in...
