I do agree that Shore has not been meeting expectations lately with only a 1 second victory in the last regatta
There is a term for this;
Foxing.

Too many crew sicknesses and gear failures across the schools ,over weeks, for me to draw any conclusions other than that if Shore are all well on the day, another win awaits them.
I don't believe this is true, with standout performances from Newington, St Josephs, Riverview and Kings I believe that it is anyone's race at HOTR for the 1st VIII,.
Hope you are right, its been a one way Shore procession for too long
I am good for an Avatar bet for anyone betting against Shore.

I rekon the big dance will be taken by view. under the same program, the two view viiis in the past two years have jumped from 5th to 2nd at hotr, and this year, other than gold cup they've been coming 2nd. All crews should be scared for another dark horse performance that should take out the MJR
Couldn't agree with you more. Very interesting racing from veiw in the back half of this season.
Heard as much. This will surely impact their performance at hotr.I hear that 5/8 of the first VIII from shore have been ruled out of HOTR due to the spreading of Typhoid around Shore. Terrible news.
This happens every year. Last year All the hype around scots and newington going to beat shore was immediately derailed with their hotr performances coming 4th and 5th. It will take a lot for kings to jump from 6th/5th to 1st within a year. I think they'll come 3rd at bestIt is all well and good hoping for a "dark horse" victory but no one can deny that the Kings Boatshed has undergone some major changes over the past few weeks in preparation for the big day and from chatting on the banks with other spectators, i come to the conclusion that everyones money is on Kings to end what little hope Shore has in winning a final race. Kings will win, they were coming 2nd last term and have been foxing ever since, Shore has gained confidence which is false confidence which will ultimately lead to them crying on the podium when they look up and see the boys from Kings standing above them. See you on 17th March where i am looking forward to the upset of the Century.
Welcome Edna to Green and Gold Rugby Forum.Overheard rumours in the SHORE shed that uniform adjustments will include a small cape. Not sure if garbage but it is from a reliable source.
No capes.
My sources from Sydney Rowing club suggest that the St Augustine's import will be rowing in the Shore 2nd VIII as one of their members has been struck down with a terrible illness in the past week. This is interesting seeing as Shores dominance in this class may see a detrimental end with the added boy only getting a few sessions in the boat.
Interesting to see that Shore would draw from another school instead of their own squad of fours. Obviously wanting to make minimal impact on the combinations throughout the boats. Should be exciting to see the results of the 2nd Viii race now the dominant crew is at such a handicap.
