I know but I think the ARU have their own concussion policy. rugby.com.au/concussion.

Copied from the link above. The 10 minute rule doesn't apply and I assume this is what schools go by.

ARU Concussion Guidance (Rugby Public)
The Australian Rugby Union provides guidance regarding concussion which applies to everyone involved in Rugby across Australia.
At all times, players, parents, coaches and officials need to act in the best interest of player safety and welfare by taking responsibility for the recognition, removal and referral of players to a medical doctor and then ensuring concussion is appropriately managed according to the guidelines.
Under the guidelines:
  • Recognise and Remove – Any player suspected or recognised with concussion must be removed from training and playing and not return to Rugby or other sport or physical activity on the same day.
  • Refer – Any player suspected or recognised with concussion must see a medical doctor as soon as possible.
  • Rest – Players diagnosed with concussion must rest completely until all signs and symptoms of concussion have disappeared.
  • Recover – The concussed player must first recover from all signs and symptoms of concussion at rest and return to activities of normal daily living before starting exercise.
  • Return – Players return to contact training and games following the ‘Graduated Return to Play’ protocol.

So there ya have it folks! the knox so called 'superstars' not stepping up when needed see's CAS loose with a near 20/20 cricket score. Altough NSW teams will see a whitewash of GPS selections, CAS will have next to none. Dominating against boys half their size in regular competition should not be recognised as 'being a good rugby player' zero skill, knowledge and vision will get these boys nowhere in the coming years once finishing school.

Reference to substance use will not be tolerated - first and last warning - Mods

Across both teams too anyone with a basic rugby knowledge you can see the 1st's forwards lacking a much needed controlled aggression and the fundamental skills needed to play rugby including (catching & passing). The 2nds backs are also lacking finishers which your 13 & 15 should USUALLY be taking care of. The gel between squads is definitely missing. Call it the coaches faults or see it how it plays, this year's selections have been the poorest of recent years....

No one can argue with the GPS result, but stating the selectors have it wrong is playing the blame game. Does CAS have a mystery team that selectors have overlooked? If they have done such a poor job please man up and name your dream team.

To make no major changes after losing 50-0 has blown my mind. You have Siteine and Jordan in the 2s team who would be excellent options for the 10 jersey however they seem to overlook them?

Against GPS, the forward pack were intimated from the outset and never looked like they wanted to be there (with the acception of Swinton who obviously thrives on tough competition). Now I will probably be torn apart for saying this, but the lack of Waverley players in the pack would have severely affected this stigma of surrendering during adversity. Cardassilaris and Cooper are injured, who in my eyes are the only Waverley forwards capable of playing at the 1s level so it's not like they were overlooked. My opinion is obviously bias, however that doesn't make me wrong.

Is Basson injured or dropped altogether? Surprising that he and Lawson got MOTM points in the match report yet neither have been retained

If you don't have the cattle, you don't have the cattle; that's the way it goes some years. However, it does put some things into perspective regarding the CAS Comp and 'dominant' teams in relation to other school rugby competitions. For this year at least. Also, and obviously in relation to NSW selections.

But no one will care when the CAS comp resumes; it will still be a competition between 6 teams. The Knox team will still be the benchmark and everyone will still be trying to knock them off their perch.

GPS 1sts are an exceptionally good team and were far too strong for CAS. The selectors could have chosen any amount of different combinations and it would have been the same result.

CAS 2nds defeated CHS and even though beaten by GPS, were competitive.

CAS 1sts were beaten by CHS but were competitive.

CAS aren't playing GPS today so more favourable reports will probably be forthcoming.

Well done to Swinton and McLennan on making the starting side for NSW IIs. Given CAS performance to date that is a phenomenal achievement and credit to how well each has performed.

Agreed.

Only other CAS players that probably had a chance were Anstee (out injured) and Purcell who i see scored again for CAS 2nds.

I believe that the Harry Chapman who made NSW 1s is a GPS boy it is just a strange coincidence. Although I am suprised that the CAS Harry Chapman did not make NSW 2s.
Yes looking back at the program I think your correct. Harry Chapman (Kings) was prop for GPS 1sts and is in NSW1sts. Makes sense over the CAS Harry Chapman who played open side flanker for CAS1sts. Smith and Gittoes (Scotts and Joeys) are the GPS1st and NSW1st flankers and deservedly so.

My apologies guys didn't know about GPS chapman. In fairness it's good to see the NSW selectors rewarding the associations who performed the best in the NSW trials comp, hence CAS only have a couple of selections

Well done to all the boys who represented the two CAS teams. The jerseys they get to keep will become prized possessions and as a bonus they got to make a some more mates. The year 11 players will have gained valuable experience for next years rep games.
