Yeah - but why can't you drive? As long as you are alone or with people from your household it doesnt seem like it would increase the spread of infection in any way?
I can't see the policy behind this decision. If the restrictions get any tighter/irrational people will just start to ignore them.
I think it's the same rationale as not going swimming, surfing, boating, mountain biking etc: if something goes wrong (accident, breakdown, medical event) people have to come get you out of the shit & you're potentially using resources that could be needed elsewhere. So, unless you've absolutely gotta go somewhere for food, medicine or other essentials DON'T.
