FORCE v REBELS R8 2013

[The Rant]

I'm being made acutely aware while watching this game that these are two below average teams...

 

[Ash]

Phipps knocks on from the back of the lineout.

Force get a penalty at the scrum for the Rebels walking around.

Force drive to 20m out, get a penalty out in front. Force take a scrum.

 

[Ash]

McCalman goes off the back of the scrum, pops a pass to Alby who gets 5 out. Force drive in tight, before spinning it wide, but the Rebels hold out. Eventually 3M knocks on and the Force come back and take a quick tap 5 out.

 

[Ash]

Ball goes wide to Stanley, who goes over in the cover. Ref gives it, try Force.

15 - 5 to the Rebels, kick to come. 33 gone.

Quick hands allowed Stanley a run to the corner. Good finish from Stanley.

Ebersohn is having a right shocker of a game today.

 

[Ash]

Eberson misses the conversion, remains 15 - 5. Longbottom won't be back.

Force run it back, Godwin makes a half break, offloads to Stanley, but he is tackled.

A few kicks back and forth until Eberson gets one right into the corner. Rebels throw, 15 out from their line. Was a good effort from JOC (James O'Connor) at one stage after getting a poor bounce.

Rebels overthrow, but Faulkner knocks on.

 

[Ash]

Force get a penalty from the scrum for Henderson hinging.

Force kick for goal, Eberson kicks it. 15 - 8, 39 gone.

 

[Ash]

Roberts kicks it over the sideline from the kick off. Bit of an error fest from the Rebels in the back end of this half.

Force easily get over the advantage line, Rebels caught offside 40m out, just to the right of the post.

Higgers given a warning for the amount of penalties against the Rebels.

2nd half i'd like to see vuna on, woodward shift to full back and oconnor to 10.
fugilaster (sp?) has had a few penalties as well...perhaps reid or saffy on 10 into the second.
we have fallen off a bit.

Hooter goes. Fake hooter goes.

Eberson kicks it, crowd cheers. 15 - 11 at half time, the Force have fought back. Rebels not in it for the last 15 minutes at all.

As a Rebels fan, I have to say that given the Rebels are on their way back from their tour, I'd like a better lead going into the half. Wouldn't be surprised if the Rebels tire.

JOC (James O'Connor) needs to move to 12.

Force should win this.
Rebels spent all their pocket money in the first 20 minutes - mind you if the obstruction wasn't called back it could have been curtains for the Force.

vuna is on...not sure yet who is off?

Foley interview sounds like the Force will go conservative. "We break the line and turn it over. We need to keep possession". (To paraphrase.)

Game back on.

Force with possession 25 out. Force go forward, then throw the ball to no-one and need to start again. Eberson is standing too deep, which is a problem.

3M down! He dropped the ball in contact, and he's gone down grabbing his shoulder. By the replay,it may be a bad stinger, but he's off and Wykes is on. Not good.

Looks like a stinger for MMM, but could be a serious shoulder injury

JOC (James O'Connor) to 10, Kingi to 15, Vuna on the wing. Roberts must be off. Roberts wasn't great in the first half.

Penalty to the Force as Higgers picks and goes while the backline scream for it.

Force to kick for goal, 42m out, almost right in front.

 

[Ash]

Eberson drags it to the right, distance was good, accuracy was not.

Have to say that Mafi is great on the wing for the Force, but Dellitt and Tupou are really uninspiring.

3M has an AC joint injury. He may be gone for a while.

Force kick away the ball pointlessly. A few kicks later and the Rebels are on the Force's 22.

3M looks shattered on the sideline.

Dellitt is v. ordinary isnt he.
The old MMM injury curse strikes again. I s'pose an AC is not too bad.
