Two wins from two games required to ensure a place in the 6. Possibility if winning bonus point v Norths and losing bonus point v Waringah. Can they do it? What needs to happen? any news on next year?

Kelly has stuck to his guns and picked Boileau at 9 again....., But dont mind the inclusion of both connor and Baldwin in the back row. Maafu back in the centres, Timmy wright in 2nds.

Good to see them starting to return from injuries Petesky! Big T Bennett in 3's back as well.

Looks like today's victory has locked in the last slot in the 6 for the Wicks.

The A game will be needed in week 1 finals, IIRC Wicks will be up against Manly.

Fourth grade played well to take out a win 31-21. The 'evergreen' coach brought some wisdom and direction to the backline and the forwards did their part. Kite was good and it was good to see the wingkeewinger back with his speed.
Third grade went to the rats 26-16 in a hard fought affair. Robertson is improving every game and his work rate was very good. Good to see Bennett back as he was always in the thick of it. Intercept tries bothways could have been prevented with that old draw and pass game the leather ball brigade played.
Second grade was a war of attrition and went to the Rats despite Hodgett, Selby and Harrods grand efforts. Bannon at the back always looked dangerous and it was a credit to the Rats that he did not do more damage.
The rats are very good at backing up and keeping the ball moving as well as the counter ruck and this aspect made it a hard day for the wicks.
First grade went to the Wicks 32-22 which after last weeks effort by the Rats against Manly was a tribute to the attitude brought to the game by the Wicks.
TC was immense and a standout in the forwards with Kellaway a standout in the backline. The Rats are very dangerous with ball in hand but Randwick scrambled all day and managed to hold the dangerous back three.
A 4 try win has almost secured a finals spot and Wicks in the finals will cause some very nervous nights for opposition coaches.

NSWRU website is claiming the Wicks only scored 4 tries on Saturday, with Horwitz kicking 5 from 6 (3 conversions and 2 penalties) which is wrong unless I'm going completely senile. I believe the Wicks scored 5 tries and Horwitz only kicked 2 conversions and 1 penalty from 7 attempts. Anyone remember who scored the other try (ie Kellaway 2, Horwitz 1, Maafu 1, plus ???).

Good games from Donlan and Paea in seconds also.

Really??? It's a great effort to get into the semi's full stop. However when you look at the finals draw, it's highly likely Manly will host the Wicks at Manly Oval and we all know how that went a few weeks ago.

Yes, I agree.
In fact it looks almost certain that the round 1 finals games will be:
Manly v Wicks at Manly Oval
Eastwood v Southern at TGM
Warringah v Uni at Rat Park
I think the only variations would come if Southern were beaten by Gordon and Wicks beat Norths (Wicks would jump into 5th spot and play Eastwood and Southern would play Manly OR Norths beat Wicks and Wests beat Manly in which case Wests could finish 6th.

However, those scenarios are probably unlikely and Manly, Eastwood, Warringah and Uni will probably all go through to the second round, although I guess Southern got close enough to be considered a chance for the upset, in which case the loser of Rats v Uni would drop out.

By the same vein it could be argued that Rats beat Manly, wicks beat Rats. I agree odds stacked against but the weekends side was far better then played manly a couple wicks back.

Amazing....the Wicks have named the same team 2 weeks in a row!
Good to see Roods back in 2nds and Tom Bennett up to 2nds also with Oli Nicholson at FB. Not sure about Alfie Paea on the wing though!
