Tony Woodcock not so much:

"WELLINGTON (Reuters) - All Blacks prop Tony Woodcock is looking increasingly likely to need surgery on his shoulder that will end his season, coach Steve Hansen said on Thursday.

"The 110-cap Woodcock was named in the All Blacks' squad for the southern hemisphere's Rugby Championship on Monday with the caveat that he would miss the start of the tournament as the extent of his shoulder injury is examined."

Well at least the ABs have Wyatt Crockett, Joe Moody and the Crusaders Academy loosehead prop to fall back on.

See the Waratahs vs Highlanders game in Dunedin a couple of years ago. After Palu scored a try he was dived on, elbow first, to the back of the head. The AR (it happened right in front of him) must have considered that because Cowan is small, it wouldn't have done much damage. Palu was not pleased and got carded for retaliation.

This was not a one-off during his career, he left a trail of incidents along the way, both on and off the field. One of the least nice players to play for NZ and I was surprised the coaches didn't straighten him out before he got a black jumper.

Love how much you guys hate Cowan. Always happy to see him on the team sheet.

Yeah, niggly player, but whatever. Plenty are.

Oh and the AB coaches didn't "straighten him out" as they didn't want to. Rugby teams full of nice guys don't win.

Yeah I was half expecting that the Makos would be a stepping stone into the Crusaders but maybe there's a wee Whitelock who plays HB? Or maybe Dagg will return from his summer hols in the Bay with a Te Aute or Hastings Boys HB in tow?

Re the Loe/ Carozza & Cowan/ Palu incidents......

..... ain' t the same ballpark, ain't the same league, ain't even the same fuckin' sport. OK, same sport but in no other way remotely comparable. Always said Loe should've been binned at least, properly dealt with by NZRU & that had those things happened he never would've sealed his filth status by gouging Cooper in the NPC Final a few weeks later.
