I'm not convinced about Ta'avao and I'd be surprised if he toured but I think Fidow is an interesting long term prospect.

Yea I'm sure he won't tour... there are guys ahead of him... but he has been a consistent performer for a while and is leading the Naki well. As for Fidow, I see him being a great impact player a few years down the line...

Dan,

JTA I can see but Moli? Granted I know less about props & scrums than Shiggins does grammar & syntax but, still, Moli?

I think he got a future WOB, and hasn't he had a stint training with the ABs? In extended squad type thing, but not sure i would write him off too much, and don't really see him doing it this year but......

^^^^^^^^^^ lots of potential, obviously, otherwise they wouldn't have had him in camp for Cron to have a look at but like I say at 22 he's just a pup & biffing him in too early will likely do more harm than good. Another season of Super Rugby, though, and who knows? Could by a RWC bolter.

Anyways, I'm thinking they'll take six props with No.s 5 & 6 starting the midweek game so question for me is in which game do they start with Crockett & Ofa? Probs not France so maybe Scotland?

Sam Cane locked in until 2021:

Amazing to think he's about to play his 50th Test & is still only 25. Doesn't get the recognition he deserves IMO, possibly as he's more a defensive player (but that said still provides plenty of go-forward when carrying).
Genuinely thought Cane was 30 odd and missed out on a long international career because of Richie's dominance. Cannot believe he's the same age as Hooper. That's insane.

UTG, the U20s sides for NZ and Aus in 2011 were just about the best from both countries. The NZ side featured Cane, B Barratt, B Retallick, B Shield, Anscombe, Piutau among many other current super and test players, while the Aus side contained Hooper, Colby Faiianga (c), Siliva, Kingston, Morahan.

Barratt and Anscombe were the stars I thought but Cane and Shield for NZ and Faiianga and Hooper for Aus were both exceptional combinations of flankers.

Shag has said they'll take 37 Oop North, presumably pretty much all of the 32 named for Bled 3 included:

Wyatt Crockett, Kane Hames, Nepo Laulala, Jeff Toomaga-Allen, Ofa Tu'ungafasi, Dane Coles, Nathan Harris, Codie Taylor, Scott Barrett, Patrick Tuipulotu, Samuel Whitelock, Sam Cane, Vaea Fifita, Jerome Kaino, Kieran Read, Ardie Savea, Liam Squire and Matt Todd; Tawera Kerr-Barlow, TJ Perenara, Aaron Smith, Beauden Barrett, Richie Mo'unga, Lima Sopoaga, Ryan Crotty, Ngani Laumape, Anton Lienert-Brown, Sonny Bill Williams, Rieko Ioane, Waisake Naholo, David Havili and Damian McKenzie.

They'll surely take a sixth prop & while I'm not convinced Moli is ready, as others have pointed out he's already been in-camp so I guess he's next cab off the rank.

Assuming Romano Minor & his mum are OK I'd expect Luke to be on the plane but if there's even the slightest doubt about where Retallick's head and/ or heart are at IMO he should stay in NZ. But if he's all good then obviously he goes & Big Pat gets an early start to his Xmas hols.

The extra midfield back has gotta be Jack Goodhue after the year he's had although Buckman's clearly on the radar as well & can play anywhere from 12-15 so must be a chance. If they take Goodhue & a specialist wing, though, I think that'll be JSav.

They've got Scott Barrett involved who has played 8 tests.

My guess is that another reasonably young one will come in instead of Romano when they identify someone as being ready or compelling from a longer term perspective.

Crusaders have just signed a young Aussie schoolboy rep lock Nick Frost from Sydney who will have qualified for the All Blacks by 2019 if he's good enough. Would make a nice reversal...

How would he be qualified by 2019 if he isn't eligible now?

If his residency starts now he would qualify in October 2020.

Seems like Tamanivalu will tour, given that Shag said he was the next cap off the rank if they wanted to bring in another winger. Not good news for the Bus.

^^^^^^^^^ in a 32 the guy who can play wing & centre has an edge on the guy who only plays one or the other. In a 37, though, I'd say they're about even esp as JSav looks to have dropped some kgs without it affecting his power game & it's obviously given him some extra speed. Can't see them both going but whoever misses out would be well advised to take their pre-Christmas holiday somewhere like the South of France...........

^^^^^^^^ he's been linked with Ringinland a few times in the last 6 months or so but this is the first time I've seen a specific Club mentioned. Looks like a done deal to me so you may be right re: how much game time the Horrorcanes give him next year.
