Very exciting result for the warringah 17s today beating a previously unseen Gordon team well and muscling up against a much larger Hunter team to win their pool.
This team was really struggling to compete two and three years ago and had what I understand was their first win last year.
To keep coming back in the circumstances that has seen other clubs give up on an age group and find themselves in a 1/3 final ( I don't know what else to call it ) is a great reflection on the character of the members in that age group.

^^^ The Gordon U17 team was actually selected from kids who are playing Junior Village Club Rugby. This hasn't always been the case. They are not the lone Ranger. Other Districts have done similar.

The Warringah victory should be backdated for the past couple of years when that hasn't been the case.

Well done Rats. Keep those boys together into the Colts programme.

The U16 Paramatta side were very impressive against Southern Districts. Norths, the other team in the pool were spirited and well structured playing some good football. They lost to Southern Districts 19 - 8 in an entertaining game.
Southern play Gordon this morning in the Qtr final. Probably not enough depth to overcome Gordon but could be interesting if Southern get the ball out to the backs who showed some good pace yesterday.

I will very interested in seeing how Parra go today. If they back up from yetsreday they will go very close. They also have a good goal kicker that put erything between the posts.

If Randwick beat Hunter tomorrow they will be top of their pool (for/Against) with ACT coming in second. Gordon v Victoria should be the other tight one
No Hugh, I don't have a young one in the team. Its the 15s. A classic case of I knew what I was talking about, but no one else did. Happens after a bottle of red.

Join the club.:) There is a vacancy at Vice President.

I thought I had pegged you as posting knowledgeably about last years City v Country U14's match, and assumed therefore one year on that ..... etc.

Often wrong. Reminded of such constantly and rapidly by La Jarse.

Illawarra hit hard in the last week with injury and withdrawals, missing 2,6,7,9,12 and 15.In addition a Centre and Prop missed the first game.

Six of the 8 are Country Reps.

Only two on the bench for the Eastwood game which increased to four for the Penrith game. The Coaching staff and Playing group showed great character to bounce back in the Penrith game and were unlucky not to win with a conversion hitting the post.

Good luck to the boys for todays games.

^^^^^Left the oval for other duties before stumps.

Perhaps some other Gaggerlander has the results of the last round from the U16's & U17.

Rats v 2 Blues was shaping up to be a beauty of a game in the U16's

Central Coast vs Eastwood will be a tough gig for both mobs as well in the U17's.

Both those games determine who will meet Gordon in the U16 Grand Final, and Manly in the U17 Grand final.

Manly (u17) and Gordon (U16) both looked very slick and worthy of their place in the grand final match.

Bit sad Illawarra were hamstrung by injuries and late withdrawals (see post above), and were unable to play to their full potential.

The pool match between those teams was very close. Should be a good Grand Final.

Any U16 update? I think Rats will have the wood on the 2 Blues to set up a Rats v Highlander GF in the U16's.
