NZ Domestic Competitions 2019

Finsbury Girl

Top o' the table mighty Magpies. Ripper try that last one, Tiaan Falcon some serious gas & what about his goal kick.

Great name as well and to top it off he's an Aussie ;)

Onwards march for Wairarapa-Bush as well. Geez it's tight at the top of the table.

Aucks go to fourth in the Prem:

Auckland 35 ( Dalton Papalii, Adrian Choat, Salesi Rayasi, Jordan Trainor tries; Harry Plummer 3 pen 1 con, Daniel Kirkpatrick 2 con) beat Taranaki 11(Ricky Riccitelli try; Stephen Perofeta 2 pen). HT: 8-11.

In what will surely be a first, Auck supporters will be backing Cantabs 'cos if Harbour win Aucks miss out on SF.

Mako complete a perfect regular season, first time it's been done since Aucks in 2007:

Tasman 47 (Leicester Faingaanuku 2, Sione Havili, Tima Faingaanuku, Mitch Hunt, Alex Nankivell, Hugh Roach tries; Mitch Hunt 4 con, David Havili 2 con) Hawke's Bay 28 (Marino Mikaele-Tu'u, Devan Flanders, Caleb Makene, Jason Long tries; Tiaan Falcon 3 con, Lincoln McClutchie con). HT: 19-14.

Magpies finish second in Championship.

Premiership SF:

1. Tasman v 4.
2. Wellington v 3.

3. & 4. will depend on the result of Cantabs v Harbour today. If Cantabs win they'll finish 3rd & Aucks 4th but if Harbour win they'll go to 3rd, relegating Cantabs to 4th & knocking Aucks out. Unlikely but rugby's a funny game sometimes.

Championship SF:

1. Bay of Plenty v 4. Manawatu
2. Hawkes Bay v 3. Otago

Otago still to play Northland but result won't affect Standings.

Part-time kicker Shaun Stevenson misses one from pretty much in front. Maybe had too long to think about it with a long injury break after Murphy Taramai suffered what looked like a really nasty ankle/ lower leg injury & had to be medicabbed off.
