14a's NC 21 - GT 7, didnt see the game but the ref was a shocker! blew the pip out of the whistle apparently?

The ref was very ordinary but the game was a cracker, the GT boys really took it to NC but the NC class and size told in the end - Great game

Terrace v NC, great day down at Tennyson. Spent most of the day going between the U16's and U14's, some really close physical games. The 14B's lived up to expectations two try's a piece, penalty kick to NC, NC holding on at the death to win 15 to 14.

Well done to Terrace on that scoreline sounds like a very good game. Disappointing to see Grammar get pumelled in a couple of games there, I'm sure they will be back though - not so long ago that BBC was in the same position. Confidence at schoolboy level is so important and often in those lower grade games a team will score a couple of early tries, send a few big physical runners at some non tacklers and the entire team will stop tackling. Certainly the case in my little brothers game where bbc put 70 zip on Grammar but you could see they capitulated and gave up.

That's 5 wins for terrace 2nds... Let's see it

This is interesting. I remember someone here mentioning a number for last years 16 Bs were playing in the firsts at GT. The 2nds which I assume is where the bulk of the A players ended up have had a pretty good season. By contrast the 1sts are having a very poor season, which could probably challenge 09 as the most disappointing GT team since 1998.

Does anyone know the full story about the GT/ NC 2nds game? Apparently GT scored a try in the last minute to tie up the game. The conversion went right but the ref gave GT another kick for what I assumed to be NC trying to put off the kicker by yelling. GT duly converted on the second try to win the game. I just arrived when thus occurred so I wasn't positive this is what happened
But if so, a dramatic ending to the game.

I hope your right but I doubt it . I said at start of year that no team would get within 30 of NC 14A . BBC got with 19 but no other school has got within 40 points!!
If GT get within 15 points I will take you and The King out for dinner.
NC were undefeated last year as 13A by a country mile and this year brought in 3 of the best 14 years olds in the country: Tau Tau was wanted by every NRL club but has a scholarship with broncos: ditto Jo Small and the 3rd is the qld rugby league / national T&f star from Bundaberg

Don't think this is what motivated the GT team but they must have done well to be under 15 points. Will be catching up with people supporting both sides and neutral observers tomorrow. Should be interesting to hear how the star studded team were pushed to their narrowest win.

Hope you enjoy the dinner BAG and The King

I heard TGS claimed the win over IGS with a penalty after full time - can anybody confirm this?

Yes this is exactly what happened. Nudgee boys ran on and were yelling as they did. Referee ruled that kick could be taken again.
