Went down to watch my filth yesterday in the local derby against Norths.
Norths very unlucky to lose that going down 22-21. I feel their first win is within touching difference however I couldn't help but notice how poor brothers were. Not the physically aggressive pack we've seen over the last few years. Missing a few key players.
On another note Norths are very lucky the officials didn't see the 12 for Norths (Leafau?) daylight punch on Elih Bailie. Wasn't a good look.

Bring on the bye for everyone to freshen up before round 5 after the break

Any reports on the Easts v Sunnybank game, with Andrew Ready rested from the Reds I thought they would have performed better? I noticed though some new names in the backs

With the reds having a bye this weekend will we see any players released to club rugby?

I doubt it. I wouldn't think the regular Reds players (including Frisby & Ready) I.e. the guys that have been playing week to week will be given a rest but you might see the likes of Lachie Maranta.

You won't see your Aust U20 lads until nearly end of season now.

So Filth you will have to wait for a while before George Smith pulls on the Butcher stripes.

I don't think you'll ever see George Smith pull on a Brothers jersey.

He will factor into wallabies mix, But I thought I heard he was playing for the Reds on loan from his Japanese club (Don't quote me)

I believe a few reds are back this week. Ready, Rodda, Frisby, McIntyre, Houston and Maranta are all meant to be playing plus a couple of others that have been turning out anyway.

It will be great to see all these players over the weekend. Really adds to the QPR.

Also just heard that Logan have withdrawn from 2nd & 3rd grade competitions.
This does not bode well for 2018.

I'm surprised they've been allowed to continue in Reserves if they cant even field 3 teams and a Colts 1 side like they said they would. Either get some other Subbies clubs involved to make the Saints a regional side like Stingrays or Bond. Or tell Sunnybank to get out of Logan. I have heard the Dragons have been flashing cheaper than usual fees to many players. Something that would be unsustainable to most other 'Community' clubs, and amounts to a bit of an anti-competitive action that could end up killing Logan as a senior club. Last time I was at the Saints it seemed like a bit of rabble anyway, so that doesn't help.

As one of the ones you are calling rabble paty, can I just tell you to get f**ked. I know it easy from outside to be superior, but I can assure you there are plenty of top quality people in Logan club. I have been one of the 'rabble' ever since I arrived here in 96 and have watched the club struggle with mostly losing players because of the fact we weren't a prem club, and players that wanted to show their wares went to other clubs. We will still struggle even if we do get into Prems which isn't guaranteed anyway (which is still stopping us getting players), and will take a few years to get going properly ie :Norths etc a couple of years back, and we have had other clubs making things as hard for us as they can for quite sometime as everyone knows the number of players each clubs has that travel to them partly because it is where they can get prems! Take my word for it if your club has any players from area , you probably forget about the rabble tag for them! Still with your comment I understand why they say union here is populated by a few people who consider themselves upper class twats!!

Mate first off im definitely not an upper class twat (kiwi from a working class family) and I come from a struggling club trying to change their ways which I joined when I moved to Australia as a kid. Secondly a rabble isnt an insult but its the only word you have taken from my original post. Rabble means a disorderly group. Which I feel fits the Logan seniors. There has been lots of talk from Logan but not enough action to warrant a Premier team or even a Reserve team. At the end of the day Logan only has two teams now, which I know isnt helped by Sunnybank encroaching on your territory. But perhaps Logan and the Bank are too close to both sustain Premier teams. And I would hate for Logan to die just because of hubris of a seemingly devided board intent on becoming a Premier club and fading into obscurity like many clubs of old. I would prefer to see a strong Logan grades club than for it to die completely, which is what I fear could happen at the moment.

Paty regardless of what you now say, once you have called my club rabble, you going to get me fired up !! The years I have watched Logan/Souths battles in grades, I would be very surprised that anyone from either club would point fingers and cal the other players rabble!

Not from Souths, and I never called the players a rabble. Called the management of the club a rabble. If you think only having two grades whilst aspiring to be a Premier club isnt poor management by the club in an area with 250000 people then you need you need to get f***** as you politely told me before.

I can tell you one of main reasons the club has struggled to have more teams is because of hte presence of other clubs that are prems in our area. Funny thing is we actually were a lot stronger about 3-4 years ago when we played in Prem reserve last time. The unfortunate thing was when the QRU decided to restructure the comp and we went down to 1st grade, we lost almost 2 teams next season, as players rightly or wrongly thought that was it for any chance of advancement. I not criticising the QRU too much, but the unfortunate thing is it really weakened the base for the move. But regardless of what the likes of Paty think, I can assure you the club is being run by a very good bunch of men and women. Calling them rabble etc never helps anyone but just reinforces I believe, wrongly what many people think of rugby union supporters in the country. Anyway enough from me, as I said I am someone who will always fire up if you call me club and/or my good friends who give their time to run it, rabble!!

Mate at the end of the day Logan has only two grades and a struggling to get a colts team on the field. There has been tangible plan this year put forward by Logan to the other clubs in how they will play Prems next year, and any help they might have recieved from other experienced officials from other clubs, including myself, have been ignored as they have not rocked up to any, i repeat any, GM and club meetings. The club keeps telling us everything will be fine but it isn't. All you've said is the managment is nice and that they're your friends. But that doesn't build and support a club when those people refuse any support to build them from outside, on how to run admin systems, on how to commercialise the club and how to recruit and put fit and proper players on the field. Its hard work and they are disorganised and walking around in circles thinking that everything will work because "build and they will come". The problem is Logan hasnt built anything but 2 grades. Not much to go into Prems next year. To tell you the truth, the moment you brought class into this conversation I lost all respect I had for your arguments. I am a passionate kiwi with a intense love for rugby. I would love rugby to succeed worldwide. I woud love rugby to succeed in Logan. But at this moment in time, Prems isnt a realistic option.

Don't worry Paty, I not saying everything rosey, or all is easy, the ONLY thing I objected to and strongly was you calling them rabble, I personally find it a real insulting term to describe a bunch of people trying to run any club.
But if as you say you only want what is best for rugby anywhere, as I do and always have I will leave it anyway.
And as for friends on the committee to handle the transition, it is made up of successful businessmen (Lawyers and accountants)who were all part of the committee that got new facilities built that club now operates from, who are not just 'nice' people.
Anyway as I said enough from me, I really want to hear how prem teams went yesterday!
