Reds v Highlanders

Highlanders have been failing to do extremely basic things well. The moment they do, they get complete control. Lima Sopoaga has been in awful form since his first game in Africa. Aaron Smith makes a HUGE difference at the back of the ruck.

This is the difference between the Highlanders and the Crusaders. They can both get in position but the Crusaders have composure, patience, discipline. Highlanders make too many seriously dumb decisions in the final 22.

So at this point, Brad's half time talk ws about position and smart kicking. But with possession we were nudging the line, a lot. Right now is anyone there thinking about things?

Wrong. Too little smarts on the field. More than enough talent, just no brains.

Bugger. Some "leaderless" play at the end from the Reds. A couple of bad kicks away and some loose penalties. A lot of good stuff too at times.

Dismal Pillock

Oh well, at least Mardo lost. Total cripple fight in the end though. Both sides continually bashing the brides head against the door jamb as they repeatedly tried to whisk her over the threshold. Landers love affair with the kick very much unrequited. Naholo a spectator. A.Smith of course, god what a difference. Squire going in at the corner for winnign tryyyyyy..... and felled by the dwarf 1st 5. All Black my arse. Akira would have waltzed in there, ball in one hand, smoke in the other, laughing while they all cried.

The Reds’ coaching team is simply not adequate if the goal is a Super w/l % > 50%.

There is adequate talent in the squad to achieve 50% +.

Corozza is the worst in his ‘attack’ area, McGahan, yesterday’s bad news, is close behind.

Overall, this Reds team is little better now late in the Rounds than it was at the outset of the season and that is an indictment of the coaching group and not of the players available.

Didn't take account of Sorevi's piss poor kicking late in the game Dru. As good as kicked the win away by not keeping ball in hand.

I dont think it's that easy. Jono had sit kicks too. And the half time talk was taken as gospel. Some rugby nous in the team would have picked up on ineffective kicking in the first half, but also understood that some possession was required in the second - kicking still required but it needed to be intelligent.

Akira would have been staring menacingly into some bloke's eyes that he's latched onto on the other side of the field. Once he sorts his shit out, he could easily be an All Black.

It’s been declared as that since at least 2014, if not 2013. The ‘progress’ level’s rate of progress implies a Super Rugby title in 2083.

Jeez, your memory is much better than mine. Seems to me we've been this way since about, hmm, not sure, but 1562.

Zero footy smarts at the end - reds endless kicking the ball away, sopoaga going on the attack when a drop goal would have sufficed
