Ahhh I'd forgotten it's in the cake-tin.

This game is turning into a massive crap-shoot: either the wind will help the Wallabies (by messing with Steyn's goal-kicking) or the Boks (by making bombs impossible to deal with); the Ref is a nutter; the selections (particularly from PdV) are half-backwards; and injuries or returns from injuries could completely alter both backlines.

I'm shitting bricks over this game, I had confidence until I saw it was Lawrence and now I really have no fucking idea what's going to happen.

Breakdown infringements and stupid scrum penalties will probably dominate this game, let's hope he doesn't try re-set the scrum every three seconds. I feel the IRB will have clear instructions to the referee's to not waste time with this kind of bullshit. Fortunately, that favours the good guys.

Our front three are going to need to step up, our locks are going to need to make a bigger impact, our back row is going to need to be on fire for the full 80, our halves combination and going to need to be perfectly in-sync, our midfield is going to need to tackle like there ain't no tomorrow and our back three and going to need to be dynamic when given space...most importantly, our bench is going to need to be noticed, no more bullshit half-assed efforts, we need body-moving players who make an impact from the second they run on to the second they crawl off, not one person can go unnoticed.

Now is the time to stand up and be counted, we have the potential there, the players, the coach and perhaps fortunately, our backs against the wall. I ask every Wallaby supporter to pray that Lawrence stays the fuck out of the game, pray that the rain stays away, pray that BDP is selected on the bench and pray that they pick Botha over Russouw. We don't want a kicking contest, we want open try scoring rugby. May the best team win, I have no problem if that's the bad guys so long as it's not on the back of a bad referee decision or stupid Cooper pass.

It's been too long since our last world cup win and I'll be fucked if I have to wait another 4 years to watch the same players make the same mistakes.

I personally would like Ant Fainga'a at 12 but one important facet the Barnes offers is the drop kick. Two legitimate drop goal options in Quade and Berrick could be very handy indeed. Both players have proven to be reasonably astue in slotting them over in the past.

the wallabies should win this game. I'm not overly confident but the past matches between the two sides over the last 2 years suggest i should be.

Hopefully the Ireland game has fixed the complacency in the squad.

The 3 biggest threats to the wallabies are Bryce lawrence, the weather and/or the Wallabies themselves.

You just gave me an idea. LET'S JUST DROPGOAL THE SHIT OUT OF THEM. They are missing their key drop-goal specialist and so we should rub it in their faces by going for one every time we are within 40m.

Morne Steyn is a drop goal specialist.

A very tongue in cheek comment I'm sure. However, I thought I'd just remind you anyway that Morne Steyn is definitely far more a drop-goal specialist than Frans Steyn (and Barnes and Cooper for that matter). So if it comes down to a drop goal contest, as a Bok fan I would feel very confident. However I'm not quite sure that will be the case.

...I wish we didn't have to wait 6 more days to find out!

Yeah, but now you have to stick to kicking them from the right half - welcome back to humanity.

There seems to be an awful lot of pessimism about at the moment. We haven't played particularly well, but neither have South Africa, beating Wales by a point and Samoa by 8.

There'll be a considerable step up in intensity from both teams for this game. As it currently stands, we're 2-0 up against SA this year and that includes a good win in the Republic against their first-choice selection.

This Wallabies team hasn't suddenly become a bad one. This is precisely the type of game where we do step up and play to our potential. We are virtually at full strength. I think we should be quietly confident.

So if he resets scrums he is wasting time. But if he gives scrum penalties they are bound to be "stupid" ones... I like the rest of your rant though. Hopefully the players hate Bryce as much as everyone on this website, and it fires them up big time.

Particularly with Lawrence officiating, my suggestion would be to play the game in the bokke half at all costs. We're going to give away penalties, so I think the number 1 goal should be to limit them as best we can to their half rather than ours.

It won't happen though, and I suspect we'll go fucking around with the ball in our own half only to give up ruck and scrum penalties.

Boks by 1-12, frankly.

short summary: we could win, but will beat ourselves with our own tactics.

Seriously! Bryce Lawrence! FFS, it's like the rugby Gods have decided to make this RWC almost impossible for us to win. I wonder if he'll penalise us in the first scrum as he did on the weekend.

More worried about your back row having to cover QC (Quade Cooper)'s lack of ability in tackling. wilkinson, Carter, Priestland and Wellies all get through heaps of defensive work.

We are screwed - bloody Bryce. He finds a penalty against us no matter what the rules are. God he frustrates me.

Coopers defense was, dare I say it, was better than JOC (James O'Connor)'s on the weekend!
