Now that the test series is over can we finally comment on how poor that French team really was. They showed some spirit in the second test in defence but never looked like breaking the line the whole series. I really believe that most Super sides would have beaten them

Perhaps we don't want a defence orientated game unless no 7 is changed, and I think I prefer having Hooper who plays an attacking game. According to stats I saw somewhere Hooper missed 5 tackles (geez McCaw missed one and is copping shit), but I think most can live with Hooper missing a few as he shows up in open play a lot.

I was kidding. It was a tongue in cheek in response to repeated comments (mostly on stories on the front page) that Michael Hooper shouldn't be playing 7 for the Wallabies and we need Matt Hodgson instead because he makes more tackles and gets more pilfers (but plays in a team that makes a ton more tackles and pilfers because they never have a lot of possession).

Quit talking your logic. We don't do with that round here.

Exactly the point I've been making since the Top 14 final. The standard of play in that game was atrocious and even though the second test was close because of the way it was played by both teams, the real difference was shown up in tests 1 and 3. On the same basis, any ex-pat Aussie playing over there atm should be excluded from Wallabies' consideration because they have been playing in a considerably lower standard competition.

Second half as promised:

41
Foley kicks to Machineaud who sticks it out 45m from his own line
Wallaby lineout to Simmons. Wide ball to AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and just in from touch but the phase makes 10 metres

42
Couple of phases, Kuridrani straightens then Foley takes on the line and makes another 10 metres
Ball goes Skelton then Folau - try

43
Foley knocks over the kick

44
French restart to THB, then punched up by Palu
To'omua charged down, knock on thankfully, scrum Wallabies

45
Good shove France. White grubbers, then runs and evades Palu. Good yards.
COuple of phases then Hooper smashes Tales

46
10 phases France before dropping it and losing metres.

47
THB gets his stinger, pulls the reverse Badger tackle, resulting in a knock on from the next phase
Which is kicked away by White. Merde!
French recover, start the phases again before Fardy cops one in the beard.

48
French scrum. Skelton's shoulder position is all wrong. Short arm for early push
French hit it up but lose it in contact into touch. French loosehead pops his knee and goes off

49
Wallaby lineout. Ball to Palu at the back. Nice passes to AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). Hooper rips and runs, but knocks on
French scrum. Stirlo and Burkey talking about how lateral we are. Good point.

50
Hooper was offside there as the French pushed Kepu back and sideways
Machineu has the ball ripped off him, and they go wide. Foley hits Folau on the chest at pace and distance

51
Folau nearly forced into touch. Lucky to get that back! Couple of hitups with To'omua at first receiver.
AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) drills it into touch inside the French 22
French lineout to 6. Bastareud hits out past the 22 then Tales clears.
Folau takes and runs, then delivers a hail mary that THB can't pull in

52
French scrum just on their own 40m. Kepu done again for not pushing straight. Pocock has a point

53
French find touch on the Aussie 35m. Sio on
Ball to 4, hit up in close from the Frogs and TPN bashes their replacement flanker as ball spilled.
Another kick through from Folau this time ends up in the French 22 in touch

54
Quick play on to Fofana. Great cleanout Sio
French recover and clear to their own 40
Wallaby lineout straight to Skelton at the front. Folau midfield makes yards.

55
Next phase Kuridrani gets up over gain line, and French in from the side as the ball comes free
Kick for touch about 8 metres out from the French line
Beale on

56
Simmons calls himself, then spills it, but was played with in the air ;)
Go for touch again. 5m out this time
Simmons calls himself again and is beaten in the air. Clear the french were double marking him.

57
French get the ball and clear. Horwill on - Skelton utterly ROOTED
Wallaby lineout 23m out from the French line
Fardy gets the ball right on the 15m line - how good is TPN's throwing?
White to Foley who spills it. Ugly
French kick deep. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) fakes to kick then runs
Great run Sio! Palu smashes it up, then Beale takled next phase.
Sio AGAIN!

Channel 10 broadcast clock stops at this point. WTF? I'll just carry on

58
Quick hands Folau to Palu, static, makes 20m. Kepu lateral and cleaned up.
Beale hands through but noone supporting.
Foley through, chucks a back hander but a French hand in the way
Eventually the French knock on

BIG scrum Wallabies. Great hands from Phipps to Foley to Beale to THB
Another setup by Palu, then the French replacement prop drifts onto Beale
Foley into the hole, Beale follows, Hooper looms up on the inside - TRY!
Laurie Weeks was following that like a Labrodor among the greyhounds - legs churning, getting nowhere :)

65
Folau knocks it down, French penalty - put it in touch 5 metres out
Big drive from the Frogs - great ball to the back and just fluid. Very weak effort from the Wallaby forwards

66
Conversion made

67
Restart Foley deep to Huget. CLearance to the French 35m

68
Wallaby lineout to Simmons (again) and the French come through to hassle Phipps
He offloads and Hooper spills but its recovered. Weeks hits it up.
Fuck I've gotta say Phipps' speed of delivery is really noticable over White's at this point
Beale throws a pass, French player knocks it up, Beale regathers and runs straight into three forwards
Poor pass Phipps after another couple of phases, Foley not running onto it hard enough
French defence has found a bit of line speed too

69

Horne gets it on the wing and tackled
Benny Mac takes it and the tackler at the same time
Kick for touch. Charles RUNS to take the throw

74
