That would lineup with what I heard. It wasn't a younger bloke, more experienced.

Doesn't he play hooker these days? Would also make sense for the Filth as they are short on hookers and the Reds need some.
WOW
Last time I saw Albert he had been living life very well. Hope he has hit the gym hard if he is going to try and play prem grade and super rugby again.

I can only imagine he’s been signed to a short term deal with the current hooker crisis for the Reds. Considering they had to ring Moore in off the couch it’s the only reason I could think they’d bring in someone who would actually play QPR this year.

the clear message to anyone who has worked hard for a year or two to make an opportunity is "pack ya bags and sign in Europe or Japan young fella"
The lack of faith and support on this by the reds is mind boggling. No wonder kids look to RL and elsewhere for rugby contracts.

It doesn't say that at all. It says if I give it a good crack in QPR I'm a chance as that guy is old as f*ck.

Players like Anae and Mathewson have played 100s of professional games. For a professional team they are a known commodity and their ceiling at current age might not be as high as a bloke in their early 20's but their floor wont be as low either.

The Reds have shown that once someone has spent time in their system they will play them (Faessler) but bringing in a guy last minute who hasn't been in the system the likelihood is that the old pro will do a better job than the young buck.

Yep and the best young prospects are already in the Reds squad or have development deals, but they are injured.

The Reds are literally down to their 5 string hooker options. They haven't signed Anae to start the game and play 80mins, he's a last resort.

Mate if you believe that I have a great deal on a bridge.
Moving on should be a great comp this year looks like 3 tiers.
Brothers
Wests
UQ
Tier 2
Souths
GPS
Bond
Easts
TIer 3
Bank
Norths.

Any of the top seven could beat each other on any given Saturday. I think the bottom two could be in for a long season.

Or go to a club that acts more loyal than they espouse

Albert Anae literally worked his way through QPR before been selected by the Reds, Anae has also has played in QPR regularly over the past few seasons.

Interesting in the QPR write up it says Tevita Kaitu’u an acquisition from South’s.

I thought he played Colts at GPS last year? And is starting for Prems this weekend.

I remember someone in this thread saying he had gone to South’s for 2022.

Commenting on my own post.

So apparently Brother's had a new recruit arrive last night, a prop who has been given a Reds contract. Will be coming off the bench fresh for the Filth this weekend.

Anyone at Crosby got any info?
Funny how he mysteriously chooses Brothers as his club.
Great to see that the Cordingley Academy has delivered another player to bump up the playing stocks at Crosby.
I’d love to see the number of newly contacted out of state players who happen to lob at Crosby through the Cordingley player allocation system?
