CAS Rugby 2022

bring back rucking

Fred Wood (13)
Bbr any details on the game?
Quality game. Shore significantly better than the last game at northbridge which was 55- not many in favour of Knox.

yellow card each in the first half. Shore scored on the stroke of halftime to make it 12-7 to them. In the second half Knox had success through the forwards with a tight head plus a dominant rolling maul and pick and go game in close. Were held up numerous times close to the line. Knox took the lead 19-17 with about 5 or 6 mins to go.

shore scrapped all day and there wasn’t any area where they stood out but they had great work rate and were well organised in defence.

shore scored with 2 or 3 mins to go which had them up 22-19 and that looked like the game done…. And then the drama began

Knox won the ball shortly after the kick off and drove a maul 15 to 20 metres down the field towards the 22 and received the penalty for collapsing. They kicked it to the corner and won the lineout and drove to the shore line… maul collapsed again, knox given the penalty and shore a yellow card

time up on the clock so knox decide to take the lineout option again 5m out which felt like an inevitable try….

the next bit is the account of an alloys dad who was right in front of it as I couldn’t work it out from the grandstand on the other side of the field

Knox kick for touch is a dink and somehow touched by shore (5m out and 10m in from the line)…. Therefore it’s game over!!! They don’t need to play the lineout… and the rest is history

good game of footy, could have gone either way.

Hi all, looking forwards to this weekends fixtures. News out of the Cranbrook camp says the 1sts are shaping up as underdogs for the Henry Plume Shield. The team features a strong 16s contingent coming from last year and some solid players in year 12. Predicting a convincing win this weekend against Pius but the brook first's big test is against Riverview at View in a few weeks. Does anyone else know of Cranbrook's chances this year?
Riverview 1sts went down to knox, does anyone know how good cranbrook are compared to knox? I know about brook but know nothing about Knox.

Judging by today’s results it could be a Knox/ barker season. Surprised by the Waverley result.
lots of chest beating by the self proclaimed masters of the universe on the gps page.

Bbr any details on the game?
Close seesawing, intense game. Knox have a massive pack and 12 so really should be using their pack better. Knox 13 super quick.
Shore defended well and played smarter rugby. Their 12 is a cracker but looks like he has busted a rub.
Was interesting hearing the knox coach getting stuck into them post game as i walked past- something a out the team needing to look after themselves- and if they want to organise a mocktail night. Weird- maybe the boys have been on the piss or soemthing.
Good noise from both supporters in the grandstand. Shore won all 8 open grades and 16 a and 16 b. Drew 15 a, won 15 b. Not sure about other grades/ages.

Does anyone know the final score for Oakhill vs Trinity?

I believe 33-5 to Oakhill, which suggests a tough year for the Greens (though Oakhill seem pretty decent, by all accounts).
Will know more next week when Oakhill play Knox. Should be a cracking game

Hey Speedy, how much do you know about the brook team? I know a bit, but would be open to hear your thoughts on their team this year.

Joeys and Oakhill strongest in that 14 age group. Joeys just great across the board and Oakhill have 2 or 3 real stars in their backs. Newington also very good. It is an age group I think that CAS is pretty weak in sadly
