I mean seriously, the Suaalli deal was inevitable, it has probably just happened earlier than a few people expected - it was spoken about constantly and the fact that Joseph has a specific clause in his NRL deal that lets him negotiate his contract every year made it very likely that something like this was only ever a year or two away from happening.
Yes, it is a lot of money, but the reality is this is probably what it's going to take to sign/retain the top tier talents going forward. If anything, I'd be expecting RA will likely need to stump this up for Jorgensen on his next deal if things keep going well.

personally - let Jorgensen (and any other outside back) leave If they believe the green is grasser in rugby league. The moment Rugby league goes after a Wilson/Gleeson (world class skills in a rugby league prop body) that’s when I will get upset.
if you weigh 110kg+ or taller then 6 ft 6 and you are notably known as one of the best players at your position in rugby then we must keep these unique rugby physiques at all cost.

What makes you think Suaalli is fluff though? Genuinely curious how the nay sayers can say signing a 19yr old who's not only playing 1st grade league, but actually dominating, is a fluff player?

Exactly, i rate Sua'ali'i as a potential full-back option but i think Jorgo is clearly the smarter footballer and just is a natural full-back. Sua'ali'i played both wing, out-side center and a little bit of fullback throughout his schoolboy (2017 - 2019 - he did not play for kings in 2k20 and 2k21 due to his league contract) years and even made the Aus 2019 u18s schoolboy team as a winger at only 16 years of age.
Potential Waratahs backline if he joined the squad right now would look like this (imo)

A restaurant could give 100 people a meal, 60 of them would enjoy it, 30 wouldn’t be overly fussed and 10 would hate it. 5 of those 10 people might make comment on the internet and prob 2 from the 60 that enjoyed it would comment positively.

Even with that, the sentiment on socials is no where near as overwhelmingly-negative as was implied - I've seen many supportive / understanding comments from both League and Union fans across League, Union, and general sporting outlets.

I think what most people are forgetting about the Suáali'i deal is that they (ARU etc) won't be paying him a cent for at least 18mths.
In the last week he has probably almost covered a years worth salary via free marketing, eyeballs and general visibility of Rugby Australia which enhances sponsor returns, gate revenue, junior registrations etc etc etc.
IMO already a bloody brilliant investment!!! Even my most diehard NRL mates are talking about it.................

Think we always get ahead of ourselves and especially so when it comes to young 10's. 6/7 months ago everyone was pushing for Pasitoa to go straight into Wallabies camp, then Edmed and now Gordon. Tried Lolesio and I think he is still recovering from the shock. Put Donaldson on to kick for a win against Italy with minutes to spare, not doing his confidence any favours. Lets just face facts, and maybe I am just a bias Quade and Reds fan but looking a bit further than just Aus v NZ teams I think only Quade and with a slight change JOC (James O'Connor) can stand up against the likes of Johnny Sexton, Handre Pollard and Ntamack playing behind arguably the best packs in the world. Let the kids grow up and prepare them for 2027 on home soil. Stop destroying their confidence and careers before it even started.
