I still think we need to track down the guy that hadn't watched in ten years but knew whatever was happening wasn't right. He should have his own weekly blog.

WJ, the guy you may want to track down is Terry Curley (a Wallaby from the 1950s). At the fan forum, he was the bloke who said he hadn't been to a game or watched a game in ages, but still gave the Tahs a spray.

Was that Curley? He was a Joeys boy and played fullback in a Bledisloe match when he was 18. He could have been a Wallaby great but he gave it up at age 20 when he entered the priesthood. He eventually ended back at Joeys as a teacher, coach and later, deputy head. Afterwards he left the priesthood and became a solicitor.

I saw him in a Bledisloe match in Christchurch, won by the Wobs. I have never seen anybody punt the ball so long, consistently as Terry, before or since.

Sounds like he is a bit eccentric in his dotage. He used to get debilitating headaches; so maybe that has something to do with his outburst.

Leave him alone wj - we owe him.

I'm not actually interested in making fun, I would actually like to find three or four of the big complainers and do sit down interviews with them to find out what exactly they want from a rugby team. If the guy is mentally affected then I don't wanna mock or anything, but if it's coming from the heart I would like to know why?

Is there anyone other than that clodhopper, Halangahu to step into 10 if Barnes is down now that Beale is gone?

"That clodhopper" has been the first choice 10 for the best Shute Shield club over the last five years. Given the abundance of talent at the club, it seems unusual that someone so poor has reached such lofty heights. Or is it perhaps that your rush to judgement is a little hasty.

Surely any rush to judgment is a little hasty
How long has been bagging away in s15 - if anything the rush to judgment is well overdue

I'm looking forward to watching B. Foley next year - just to see. He should make a lot of matchday 22s, even with Barnes completely healthy for the season. The Tahs should be served well not only by his versatility in different positions in 15s as seen for Sydney Uni , but also by his versatility in the several rugby skills required for elite Sevens rugby. His experience in big occasions in the 7 man game will serve him well in Super Rugby also.

He looked like a running Gits type flyhalf in his cameos for the Tahs, both Juniors and seniors, but when Barnes and Hangers were unavailable for Sydney Uni this year he showed an all round game. Let's hope that he gets a chance to demonstrate that in Super Rugby.

Sitting behind that Uni pack is a rather comfortable spot. The reality is that "best 10" in the Shute Shield ain't no high accolade, Hangers is solid and safe but rarely a threat

Hangers is a good player but is one of those fellows who plays well at one level but can't bring his game to a higher level of rugby consistently. It happens to good Super players too: they have the odd good test match but very few of them compared to what they have at the lower level.

On the other hand when you see a good test player play club rugby after an injury, and he is in good form there, you know he take his game straight into test rugby.

Are you thinking about how good Berrick was looking after he got his head fixed?
