Mike Harris would be the perfect option for 10 at the Rebels, if he was off contract. Think he would balance out that back-line perfectly.

Also think the Rebs should be focusing on getting some strong forwards.

I don't see Jam Lam coming back, maybe we could crack a deal to get him if we put his brother in the EPS squad.

I've never been a big Houston fan but he's big enough and talented enough to be a good super rugby player, I just don't think he's ever played like one.

While I am disappointed that it looks like we cannot keep a hold of Delve and I think he will be a massive loss.
My disappointment will be somewhat assuaged if we can sign up Higgers as a replacement.
His workrate this year for the reds has improved out of sight from previous seasons.
His hard running and tough tackling will be a real advantage to the rebels.

Of course if he stays with the reds then we don't need him as he is nothing more than a glorified winger anyway.

at only 25 higgers would be a great replacement. he should be coming into his prime years as an 8 and you can see his work rate is picking up.

i would not mind a back row of higgers/saffy/Jones or Davidson (who is getting better and better)
combine that with pyle and neville in the 2nd row and i'm feeling good.

I imagine the 6-8 players that need replacing as mentioned by Boland the other day, are as follows:
Cipriani
Delve
Huxley
Lipman ?
Mortlock ?
Freier ?
Campbell

If the Rebels were able to pick up the below players they would be in a strong position for 2013;

Higgers
Mike Harris
J Jenkins
E Jenkins

Harris would be a great NH 10 and a great addition to the Rebels backline back he'll never have you playing the front-foot running rugby that Beale and O'Connor thrive off.

If he comes to the Rebels it should be as a 12 or as a utility.

Where would O'Connor go? Fullback? Can't see it happening with the players we have.

10? Fullback? Wing? But yeah, you illustrate the point that that Harris just wouldn't fit.

There are better fits for the Rebels out there but a risk just needs to be taken. Holmes would be nice (but I think he's taken next year), maybe Saifoloi, or even Pisi (the Samoan 10).

like most I am yet to be convinced that JOC (James O'Connor) is a 12. if rebels management decide that beale is too valuable at fullback then JOC (James O'Connor) will probably pay 10. should they realise that Beale is a better 10, i suspect he will remain there and JOC (James O'Connor) will shift to full back. Inman staying at 13 and to be honest, mitchell has looked solid at 12...i personally think more reliable than JOC (James O'Connor) at that position. JOC (James O'Connor) would be great at 15.

that leaves Vuna on one wing and gerrard on the other if he stays. if he doesn't - i expect us to recruit a solid winger and since we're losing three internationals next season, i'd love to see a fijian or a samoan rampaging down our wing.

I would think a decent young hooker, THP and a few pacy young outside backs would be more needed.

Between JOC (James O'Connor), Beale & Hilgendorf you have 10 well covered.
