Anyone got a round up of the various sevens and tens tournaments that took place over the weekend? Know a lot of Subbies teams were in action.

Any truth to the rumors that a number of Dirty Reds players playing with Petersham this year??

Not sure about that but i see that Brothers winger Joel Brooks (Brother of Wests Tigers half back Luke) has signed with West Harbour. Have Brothers lost anyone else from their premiership team?

Word is that many clubs across all DIvs are stunned at the lack of players at pre-season. Some junior clubs are reporting 20%+ falls in regos.

That is concerning if in fact true. I'm sure many clubs will be expecting a bigger turnout in March leading up to Round 1.

Let's hope so but if you ask around you'll find there is significant concern. One Northern suburbs 2nd Div club ran a story in their local paper talking up recent player recruitment then only two days later struggled to field a team at yesterday's Hawkesbury 10s.

Not sure you can read anything into numbers by the Hawkesbury 10s. It is still February, and that tournament is long travel for most teams.

Our club (Kings) isn't swimming with numbers, but that's standard for February. From contact with our likely players we should be OK this year.

St George[/U] - As Div 3 champions you'd think St George would be favourites this year however the rumours suggest they may have lost a few players to clubs in higher divisions. Will be challengers again.

Don't worry, they'll find a few Southern Districts cuzzies towards the business end.

First trial game is next weekend, Sydney Irish are playing Randwick 3rd and 4th grades. The start of the season is creeping up on us!

Yeah it looked like a good day, unfortunately I had to jet off after our first game. It lacked a sense of occasion, but the weather had a bit to do with that. Also very unimpressed by the BBQ selection- you had twelve clubs there but no option for a bacon and egg roll! Outrageous.
