I seriously think it's time to form a committee, or even a sub-committee, to determine the make-up of the new committee that selects the committee to recruit and appoint the General Manager, High Performance Unit.

The General Manager, High Performance can then make recommendations to the committee (that selects and appoints the GM HPU) as to how we undertake the process of recruiting a new Reds Head Coach, and Attack and Defence Coach.

Once the recruiting of the GM takes place we'll be in a position to think about recruiting (with the committee's authorisation) of the said HC, and ADC.

Of course, time is not of an essence .

What sort of remuneration, bar access, game tickets and canapés can I expect to enjoy on this sub-committee Lance?

Fan Forum @ the Occupy Ballymore event that should be organised.
Seriously, how many people would we need to lob up at Ballymore to be taken seriously?
If it's me and two other blokes waving placards around I'm not sure we'd get any traction. If we could get a few hundred though.......

So that's two of us then. ;-) But yeah I know. Not really an idea that's going to grow legs just yet.
What about this one then? They are calling for EOI's on the head coach gig. Would flooding them with under qualified applicants (ie regular joes like us) do any good? Each applicant could highlight their ability to achieve the lofty standards that the Reds expect of their HC.

Can anyone here actually imagine a top line coach, say like Blackadder, now putting his hand up to say, "Hell yes, I express my interest!".

dru, to your point, I find this whole 'coaching expressions of interest' section of the media release beyond odd, verging on the bizarre. As you say, what would a Dave Rennie-standard coach think of all this? Would he touch it with a barge pole?

The Reds season ended over a month ago....RG's contract expires end August.......why only now would a 'committee' to assess the HC appointment matters be formed? What's been happening before now on such a critical matter that also determines pressing recruitment and squad planning outcomes?

And this erstwhile body is going globally to search out 'final' expressions of interest from other relevant coaches......but where a final decision re coaching appointments is to be made in just a couple of weeks by early August. As if a new coach could be negotiated with and signed up in two weeks.

Meanwhile RG is still somehow 'included' in the process.

This is getting worse by the day. Even the casual fans that I talk to are feeling alienated. Which is a shame considering how much effort goes into the junior and community programs from the organisation. This is where the QC (Quade Cooper) $$$ makes a greater return for the club and Australian Rugby in general.

These casual fans still buy merch, go to a game or two, take visitors etc but all of this will change unless some amazing announcements are made shortly.

Might be able to pay for shitty seats next year but move and take your pick to sit on the 50m at this rate.

Here's another idea.

Since RG is determined to stay because he's finally got his dream job in his home town and doesn't want to move around with his family anymore, is there a corporate sponsor or even a syndicate that could be encouraged to sponsor him with a job? That way he can have a job where he does nothing and is accountable to no one (so maintaining the status quo) and the rest of us can get him the hell the way away from the Reds.

The world-wide search for a way to re-appoint RG has now begun.

Perhaps, to save $s and time, the QRU could use the 'world-wide' search processes and consultants that the ARU used with great solemnity to find a new ARU CEO.....

.....that just happened in the end to be a suburb-mate, ex-school mate, ex-rugby playing mate, and current golfing mate of the ARU's Chairman.

Vidot is out of favour at Red Hill I'm pretty sure.

And without a contract next year. So is Jordan Kahu (more of a ball playing fullback/wing/centre/five-eight).

There are some other interesting ones in the NRL like Will Hopoate, Kirisome Auva'a (IGS product), Reece Robinson (ex-Broncos) without a gig in 2016 yet.

I would think money would be on Vidot... Would be 2 big wingers for the Reds (And ex Broncos) if Kuridrani stays on one wing.

The ARU need to put a boot up the QRU we as in Aussie rugby can not afford the Reds to have another season like the last couple.

I'd hold a placard if I was in the country. As it is have sent them an email and am considering finding the login for a the twitter account i think i registered for years ago and never used - for the sole purpose of trolling them.

Edit - Someone else already doing a fine job:

So that's three of us and a couple of interns. You could nearly call that a groundswell of support! Get on board folks!

I've got the sign ready. My #sackdeans one did the trick and he had a 56% win record.
Getting rid of RG should be twice as easy
