Is it true Oxley College is acting as a 3rds for St Pats, and St Pats 3rds vs other ISA teams 4ths?

Makes sense as I know that's what the Scots school bathurst are doing with Kinross and it's working well and giving scots plenty of regular football at a level which they are competitive at.

I agree that it's working well for Scots to slot in for Kinross, as Kinross don't have 5 grades. However to my understanding St Pats Strathfield a strong rugby school have 5 grades, yet Oxley college is playing as Pats 3rds thus leading to unfair match ups in the lower grades (Pats 3rds in the 4ths comp and Pats 4ths in the 5ths comp) I don't see why this decision was made as Pats don't lack depth throughout the grades like other ISA schools do.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Unfortunately, Pats only go down to 4 grades as well - All 4 Pats teams played against the 4 Kinross teams (no one against Scots).
Yes, they do lack depth. They are slowly being Pius'd.

Scots played Oxley on that day as a standalone div 3 game

As we head towards the half way mark of the season, keen to know how the St Gregs/St Pius X 'initiative' is going from those within both schools - how are the teams going across all ages? Has it been a good thing for both schools? What's going to happen next year - do teams go up to (eg) As and down to Bs based on 2016 results?

Also, I put forward that Auggies (and perhaps Oaks - maybe) have outgrown the ISA comp. 2015 results for Auggies showed complete domination across all ages and it appears to be heading in a similar direction this year. Can't be good for the Auggies boys or for those at the end of the hidings. The idea of a tiered rugby comp across ISA, GPS and CAS has got to be seriously considered in my opinion. It would provide the appropriate level of competition for all players and would provide a better week-in week-out pathway for those wanting to head onto higher honours in the senior levels of school rugby and beyond, producing better Waratahs and Wallabies players. We need to do something different to challenge the All Blacks in years to come - the current process aint workin'!!! Thoughts anyone? Just imagine a Auggies v Joeys fixture - not just 1st XV but across all the ages, especially the As - what a feast of schoolboy rugby that would be.

Don't see it happening. There's more to GPS Rugby than just the rugby. It's the prestige, history and tradition that those schools share with each other. The results are very much secondary to that.

if anything it is not so much auggies and oaks outgrowing isa its rugby in general losing playing numbers across all schools and competitions due to bad pathways and a lack of funds put into grassroot club rugby.

I have a son at St Greg's and I'm thinking that the boys would have been better suited to moving to 2nd division rather than the current situation as the teams that won against pius are still losing ever match and the boys that lost to st pius and demoted to the b's are winning every match.

Congratulations to the boys from Stannies, who downed pats today in poor conditions. A bit of niggle from both sides and a loss of structure in the second half, but a good win nonetheless. Credit to pats as well for coming back from what seemed like certain defeat initially. Stannies now sit at the top of the table I presume, rounding out an impressive first round. Whether they can continue performing admirably next round will be the determining factor in who wins the ISA

Super sloppy games at orange today, Pius thirds, seconds and firsts again coming away with wins. Firsts and seconds keeping Kinross scoreless and thirds conceding 5 points. Firsts and seconds are now 5 from 5. Well done to the Pius boys, hope to see you back in div 1 next season!

Only scores that I know:

13As to Augustines by less than a try
14As to Augustines by 60 plus
16As to Augssitnes by 50 plus

15As win
2nds win

1sts 12-10 WIN to St Augs. An incredible game - rain, gusting winds, dark skies, MUD. The rain was even coming in sideways under the shelter of the grandstand for much of the game.
Oakhill were unbelievably good today; scoring first off a penalty, then a converted try, and maintained 10-7 until the last nanosecond of the game when young Albert H got the boys over the line after another good Auggies scrum.
Hearts were breaking up in the stands but in the end Auggies got the gong.
For Augs captain Bonnie H did a stellar job holding the boys together in the hideous weather and the pressure of the 10-7 scoreline esp for the last 30 minutes or so, and no.2 Jack O got MOTM for the 2nd week in a row, deservedly. No.15 Bailey M has been playing out of skin recently.
For Oakhill great to see Ryan Papanhyzuen (spelling?) the NRL player doing a fantastic job in 14. Jack Brewer no.3 a top notch player.

The Oaks vs Auggies game was a very intense affair and given the appalling weather still a beautiful game to watch. Oaks got ahead early with a penalty and a beautiful backs try. Thrilling to watch. Auggies came back from the second half with a beautifully set up try to the very young Albert Hopoate out wide. From then on the wind picked up and it was a battle to get up the field. Eventually the Oaks defence cracked after an error in goal and a 5 metre scrum. The game was played with enthusiasm and respect from both sides. Given many of these players were playing for spots in the ISA firsts every player gave their all.

Great game from both Oaks and Auggies, Oakhill halves have much to be desired however the rest of the side really stuck it to Auggies for the Majority of the game. Strong performance for both sides, I think the score really reflected what kind of game it really was. A grind
I think Auggies are still the team too beat this year swell as Oakhill, however with Stannies scoring a win at home on the weekend. They could be the dark horse. It will be interesting to see how the trip over the mountains fares for Stannies as Augs have a home straight of games to end the season.
I think is down to 3 teams really, two of which have dominated ISA as long as I can remember. I think that if Pats work on their discipline they might even have a crack. I would be very interested to see what the penalty count was in Bathurst. Im sure any Pats parent will be quick to tell you how their son would play Wallabies next year if the ref didn't hate him.
Regardless, After the long weekend break Stannies will come down to Sydney and play what will be the ISA grand final you could argue.

St Pats No.10 was a real standout and could've won them the game. Had he have worried about it and not approaching the referee and abusing him at every stoppage play. He probably fetched about 4 penalties for talking to the ref and didn't learn. Ive sent the brat off. I think he was given a yellow card in the conclusion he even at one stage got in a loud verbal with his captain No.7 probably one of the b.o.g who tired to shut him up.
Its such a shame to see such talented sportsmen in this day and age reacting like brats and blaming the world for their problems. Stannies won pretty comfortably in the end with a few opportunities to score which weren't converted. I agree with the above, refereeing was fair but parents seemed to think otherwise. I wasn't aware of the perceived bias at Stannies however hard it is to play so far from home.
Scrum from Stannies was decent, well matched by Pats. But the work through the SSC backline was more then impressive and the line was broken nearly everytime the ball was swung. with the exception of a couple of really strong outside backs for Pats.
As I said No.7 Pat Cabinossi or something was great and controlled the game at the breakdown securing the ball for Pats all game.
I think Stannies should definantly compete this year in the ISA and think they have competed for years however Augs and Oakhill have been strong.
Cant wait to see Stannies in Augs and I agree completely with Steve.

Referee standards and bias at stannies has been a problem forever, have a squiz at the refs and the links to the school.

Did ISA Training go ahead yesterday?

It would have had to be skills in the gym and admin only.

Drive to and from BMGS would have been challenging.

Any snouts or proud parents have an ISA team list?
