    Wallabies 2021

Haven’t watched him play. How does he rate compared to our emerging talents? Been watching Gordon / Harrison with interest but not lynagh. No idea whether it’s the lynagh hype or a genuine prospect. Jones would be equally likely to be screwing with Australia or staking his claim.

Yeah I really hope he doesn’t play for England either :)

So Louis Lynagh has apparently been named by Eddie Jones in England’s 45 man squad for a training camp next week

Purely from a rugby perspective I’d love to see Folau at the back of this side. Such a shame he ‘s been brainfucked.

    TRC2021 - Wallabies v Boks @ Suncorp 18/09

Just shows how ludicrous the card lottery has become. That was hands down as clear a red card as you’ll see, yet Koro and Barrett get reds for incidents that clearly weren’t. All with the benefit of slow motion TMO reviews - same as what the citing commissioner has. Very lucky none of those...

Always the right shoulder. Reckon he’s right handed and doesn’t like the primary contact on his left side. Contorts to manufacture a tackle with his dominant shoulder rather than proper technique.

Reckon that decision bit us in the arse in the extra time loss. Pop gun clearing kick from Rogers into touch. Lineout, few mauls, then a drop goal if I recall. Utterly predictable if you had a rugby union background. Wouldnt have happened on Lathos watch

Yep - Very lucky he was bit lower this time round. And I suspect it was just that - luck Not an improvement in technique

    TRC2021 - Wallabies v Boks @ Suncorp 18/09

Yeah it was very lucky the contact was shoulder first. But it was - so the correct call was an entry level of yellow. Low degree of danger and mitigating factors so there’s a very strong argument it could have been reduced to a penalty. But it wasn’t and we won so time to move on I guess. Still...

    Refereeing decisions

Wasn’t really sure where to post this but it’s an interesting read from a sport’s law solicitor regarding the tackle framework. Also reviews a lot of the red/yellow cards with explanations and judiciary findings including the Barrett card in game 3. Hopefully he’ll cover this weekends cards as...

Will be interesting. The boks don’t have that unique ability to capitulate and give away 20pts in the space of 15minutes. That’s been a quality the wallabies have excelled at more than anyone else. The boks will lose but it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s closer.

I personally think it was a yellow which should have been mitigated to a penalty only according to the laws of the game (either due to low degree of danger, or attempt to wrap as a mitigating factor as per framework) Yellow card offence Shoulder charge to the body (no head or neck contact)...

Must make “an attempt to wrap the arms” This tackle from farrel was not punished on field and then deemed ok by the citing commissioner as he had “made an attempt to wrap an arm” Looks pretty similar to me. As usual consistency would be nice.

Was it really a shoulder charge? That photo is the exact moment of contact frame by frame. Before the heads collide. The left arm is clearly wrapped. Looks worse from the other angle as you can’t see the wrapping arm. I reckon rugby’s gone bonkers if that’s a card.

Gotta love the hands in the air absolution from a clear obstruction that meant swinton had to make the tackle in the first place. Freeze frame at the point of contact in the tackle looks pretty benign as well. Unlucky all round.

Is swinton really any better then Wilson in the lineout? Same height, same weight. Genuine question.
