Wallabies v Springboks II, Allianz Stadium 7:35pm 03/09/22

Yeah he was asked a question by the female commentator on Stan about the merits of constant box kicking when hodge was in the side. He agreed it was poor. Made the comment that Gordon looked good when he came on and said with a slight wind behind them in the 1st half and a player in the side who...

    Refereeing decisions

Actually the offside line at a ruck is at the feet of the hindmost player. So if the blocker is behind there he’s fine. And he doesn’t need to move out of the way. He just can’t change his line to block the charging player. So if he stands still behind the hindmost feet he’s fine. You could also...

There were some positives. The set piece was much better and on par with the boks set piece. Koros stuff up aside I thought they took the high ball barrage fairly well. The issue was the subsequent rucks/turnovers and getting driven off the ball. The retreating/lazy runners didn’t run as good a...

    Wallabies 2023

Yeah touch and go I guess. They can still do non contact and fitness drills so that won’t be an issue. Just depends on how important Rennie feels they are. Paisami is easier to replace. Stocks are low at 10. Might be an excuse to play foley without denting lol’s confidence. I think he’s a step...

    Wallabies 2023

Am I missing something here? Sat - Thu is 12 nights. And the game is 30mins later so it’s >12 x 24hrs between games. They’ll be fine to play.

Rennie also said post match they had a light wind in their favour in the first half which is why he would have liked to see Hodge kicking up the centre rather than white box kicking.

Would be 12 full days to Thu night anyway

Will be interesting to see if white gets the starting role for Bled 1. Rennie made a comment post match that he thought Gordon played very well when he moved to 9. He also specifically criticised Whites box kicking when Hodge can roost it 70m up the centre and make them play it out of their 22...

Reckon they should ban kicking in the attacking half while rugby still has some supporters left. What a shit spectacle that was.

Not really sure which is the better side yet. Haven’t seen enough rugby to tell

Same mistake as the game we lost to the Argies. All the lazy runners were in the wrong spot. Thought we’d learnt that lesson

For me Gleeson was the standout player of the series for Aus A. Even with Mcreight there - and he’s subsequently been immense for the Wobs in Hoopers absence. I’d like to see how that translates at Wallaby level sometime this year. Hard to fault McReight or Valetini so that leaves no. 6 -...

I don’t think you can carry foley on a 6-2 bench. Only really covers 10/12. Lol has earned the right to start again. Hodge covers 10. I’d bring Kellaway into the starting lineup and have petaia as the bench utility - purely because he covers more positions that Wright. Rest of the bench...

Koros lucky he didn’t bugger his shoulder or elbow in that tackle

TRC 2022: All Blacks v Argentina

I think the ABs have been traditionally a step above most other sides which means they have been able to take the rub of the green, and a few borderline decisions out of the equation. They have come back to the pack (or been caught) and now are experiencing what the rest of us have for years...

Wallabies v Springboks - Adelaide Oval, Sat 27th August, 2022

Incidentally what the f#@k has rugby done to itself to make a spectacular cover tackle into a bleating frame by frame analysis and calls for a card. 15 years ago there would be no questions asked and that would be lauded as a spectacular tackle by both sides, no questions asked. The tackle...

Wallabies v Springboks - Adelaide Oval, Sat 27th August, 2022

Koro would have hit him with a text book tackle in the corner if he’d not changed direction. He realises at the last minute he’s not going to make it and tries to come inside and dive for the line. That brings the contact a split second earlier, off the shoulder and launches him. I think it was...

Wallabies v Springboks - Adelaide Oval, Sat 27th August, 2022

I think the contact arm is attempting to wrap. Mapimpe subtly changes direction which means the contact is on the upper arm rather than shoulder and this prevents the arm coming around. Koro slightly overruns him due to the direction change and leap.
