Australia v England: Match III, SCG, Sat 16th July 7.55pm AEST

So it seems we were a little lucky not to lose Kerevi to a red card after the attempted tackle on genge - head clash in which Kerevi came off 2nd best when he was poleaxed in the tackle. Missed by the ref and no interruption by the TMO. Photo doing the rounds of English media. Careful what you...

Why not? It’s not only players that can learn from their mistakes.

That was actually a much better game without cards or the TMO. Didn’t mind that the game was allowed to flow a bit more without continual penalties. We created enough opportunity to win. Just not clinical enough with our finishing - too many unforced errors. Congratulations England. Strangely I...

Frustrating game. We created more opportunities, looked more dangerous, and had the cattle to win. Just left too many points on the park. And the try against the run of play which required no line break from England killed us. For the first time in ages I’m quietly confident our time is coming.

Immense defence from England. Wallabies only have themselves to blame.

Makes sense. No slight on Leota. Just a reflection on lack on lock stocks and the fact he is the only one that can cover 4-8 on the bench. Hope Wilson grasps his opportunity.

How many red cards do you reckon if that had been a union game. I counted 4 at least….

    Refereeing decisions

The quote I posted was from the Irish times - it might also be wishful thinking with no way of confirming.

    Refereeing decisions

“Following World Rugby’s review of the first Test Ireland received clarification on several contentious issues in that defeat including the acknowledgment that All Blacks Scott Barrett and Rieko Ioane committed yellow card offences and that Joey Carbery ought to have been awarded a penalty try.”...

Nah it just looks like it. He was never bound to 3.They both latched on to vunipola then 7 joined them and all 4 poleaxed Leota.

Australia v England: Match II @ Suncorp 7.55pm AEST, 09/07

It went to the TMO and a penalty was awarded. It wasn’t a strike - just pressure on the head and a bit of niggle. Appropriate. And as the Stan commentators said there’s similar incidents in league every game.

Australia v England: Match II @ Suncorp 7.55pm AEST, 09/07

Not sure we should be encouraging more cards. A bit grubby but not dangerous. I reckon all that stuff - pseudo headbutt, hair pull, face push, chin brush in a tackle - just needs a penalty and a warning. Save the cards for the real stuff. They’re ruining the game as a spectacle.

Nah the question is given Itoje passed the ball to vunipola was the poms try a legal maul or an illegal flying wedge/multiple player latch. Opinions divided it seems Largely academic - but it was a set play so we’ll likely see it again and it makes a big difference in how to legally counter it.

Australia v England: Match II @ Suncorp 7.55pm AEST, 09/07

Watch the replay in slow Mo from 40secs. You can see the point when Leota is contacted as he jolts backwards - under the force of three people driving forwards. It’s pretty clear.

I have - multiple times. Just posted the stills for those who can’t be bothered. I maintain they were very clearly pre bound. But I’ve said enough on the issue
