Didn’t the reds beat that side in the super rugby final

Showing your rugby nous again there derps. Go back and look at the 3-2-1s and read some of the player ratings media post game . Credit where credit is due. He had a very good game. Whether he can reproduce it is the question.

He played at 10 the last time we beat the ABs in 2020 with an outstanding performance. Noah was at 10 the game before with what was then a record loss. Waste of time or a chance to see if history repeats?

The RWC is only 2 years away. JOC (James O'Connor) is perpetually broken. I’d love to see Quade get a swan song but agree there’s little point. Our up and coming 10s are still to young. We need a solution. I think we should have a look at hodge. Nothing to lose except an already lost series.

Who cares? My point was lolesio has performed ok at super level and against a lower standard of opposition but has struggled to perform against better sides. It had nothing to do with whether we were full strength or not.

Yeah you’re right - it was the ABs last year when O’Connor was injured again. Boks bailed. My bad.

3rd string Froggies vs ABs and Boks = chalk and cheese. He’s not up to it yet. His last outing against the boks was much the same as recent ABs games. Time for a change. Maybe give him another outing against the Argies

    Refereeing decisions

Problem with the complexity of rugby rules is that if you slow-mo every game you can see a multitude of missed infringements. Unfortunately last night there were a number of questionable penalties, particularly in the first half which directly resulted in points whereas the infringements the...

My bad - even Stevens. Point remains though

First few were a bit weird. Wasn’t much wrong. Good throw. Good jump. Ball just dislodged on the way down to ground. Rub of the green went against us and saw us 9-0 down with not much between the two sides.

Yeah I think tonight was our best chance to get a win at Eden park for a long time. I suspect we’ll run out much the same side next week bar koro’s inclusion only to see the ABs step it up a gear and send us back to the drawing board for game 3.

Bledisloe #1 New Zealand vs Australia, August 7 2021

We outscored them 4 tries to 3. Poor kicking in the wind, a few questionable1st half penalties, and an intercept. Why make changes just in the name of experience? Pick the team based on form and performance - not caps.

That’s tough on Ikitau - I though he did alright tonight. The weakness in the backs were Noah and unfortunately petaia. Although I don’t think Petaia did much wrong - he was just invisible. Other then koro for petaia I doubt there will be any changes.

Yeah the backup is a problem. My initial comment about QC (Quade Cooper) was tongue in cheek. I would bring JOC (James O'Connor) in as soon as he’s fit. I guess we need to stick with Noah until then. To be fair his kicking has been outstanding this year and tonight was a windy aberration. But I’m not convinced he’s the future...

If JOCs available he takes Noah’s position not 12. No brainer.

Don’t think he’s been great but agree QC (Quade Cooper) in not the answer.

Might see Quade next game. Not that the outcome will be different but points to both sides might be more entertaining.

False hope from a lower standard opposition. Back to what we saw against the boks last outing.
