Bledisloe 2 - Wallabies vs All Blacks, Wellington, 27 August 2016

I had the same question about Lachlan maranta who just joined the Reds from the Broncos Son of ex bronco Brett plowmann. Apparently he was Maranta-plowman and hated the hyphenated name so dropped the last half.

Bledisloe 2 - Wallabies vs All Blacks, Wellington, 27 August 2016

Edit: although I think he hit 60 caps in the RWC so if Cheika sticks with the giteau law we might see him in next years series??

Bledisloe 2 - Wallabies vs All Blacks, Wellington, 27 August 2016

He's still in rehab from a serious knee injury and has signed for the wasps in England. Won't be seeing him again any time soon

I reckon they'd be bagging each other a whole lot more.

Agreed. I hope to see that sometime this year. But surely if you made that decision you'd take the opportunity to pick a player at 15 who could kick. Like DHP, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), or hodge. Foley doesn't have to be in the side if he's not picked at 10.

I wonder if Cooper is at 10 because Cheiks has recognized the problems with Foley at flyhalf lately, and his bacon was saved by the injuries at 12. Or if Cooper has got a run at 10 because Cheiks sees no other experienced alternative at 12.

Slipper scrummaged better against Eng and in game 1. Poite makes his scrum assessment early and sticks with it. I'd prefer to start with slipper and TPN for this reason But it is what it is.

But as I have said elsewhere that in turn relates to picking part time jumpers who don't have the skills and guile to camoflage the intended receiver. More options and more experienced jumpers wil solve that problem. As well as a shitload of throwing practice this week.

Not much else to talk about cyclo. Other than the pooper which has been done to death you could toss a coin between 4-8 and not alter the outcome. There's very little point of difference and it will come down to whether they get their shut together on the day. I can post that 15 times between...

Bledisloe 2 - Wallabies vs All Blacks, Wellington, 27 August 2016

That disappoints me on two levels Firstly that Cheika doesn't recognise the fact foley is not cutting the mustard as an international no 10. And secondly that Cheika thinks a 10, who had rarely played at 12, can play there in his first game in months against the ABs in Wellington. If you're...

It's all inter-related. The taller timber have been jumping all their rugby careers. They learn the skills of guile and timing. It's not just their height. It's their acquired skill set. Stick in a bunch of part timers because they are good in general play and expect them to compete with the...

    How to fix the wallabies

It's not that those skills are completely absent. We just don't make them a selection priority. England didn't chose their best playmaker at 10 - they chose their best kicker, and arguably it won them the series. We constantly pick the best exponents of running rugby but ignore kicking and the...

Fair enough McCalman is busy and has lots of involvement but little impact Timani has impact in attack and defence but sometimes goes missing. Toss a coin. As most have said Cheiks will keep the Pooper so it's all speculation anyway.
