Even more ridiculous, CAS Athletics season cancelled. No physical contact in athletics.
You can go to a park and exercise, but you can't run round an oval. You can go to a gym and follow each other onto a treadmill, but can't run around an athletics track.
Nice to see good grace being shown from Aloys fans.
I was right behind the kick and it was touch and go from where I was. It most certainly did not miss "by a good few metres". However the (independent and qualified) touchie and ref were in a better position than me (or anyone else) and they...
Why do people think Byron is Trinity's star?
Stead is the man. Ilias and Payne too. Byron is a good player and very good finisher, but these 3 are superior all round footballers.
I'd be happy to let Robertson, Mumm and Horwitz go. They are currently passengers or liabilities. Ditto Lucas and Roach.
If the Rebels go, biggest target should be Lomax, followed by Hodge and Timani. Hodge at 12 or 15 (or even 13) outside Foley would be good. he and Beale could even swap...
Lamens is a late 1998 birthday - he has done other sport up an age.
I can't confirm if he is playing this year - remains to be seen. If he does - it makes it very hard for Cranbrook to take the moral high ground on anything.
Would it be tough on him not to be able to play? Yes.
In that case why is Tom Lamens at Cranbrook being mentioned? He turns 19 this year. He's played down an age all the way through 13s-16s.
So have Barker done the right thing and withdrawn their overage boy?
Barker have been busy. They brought in a 6'2 year 7 kid who's the state running champ, and a top yr 11 athlete, as well as the rugby boys.
Still - Knox complaining about other schools giving scholarships is pretty funny - pot...kettle...black...
Re that Knox team - I do believe you'll find that Towns has left Waverley and is at Knox. He is still mentioned as a possible in the Waverley backline - this is why his name isn't mentioned there.
Interesting to see Knox have been active. Not in rugby perhaps, but last year's State 13 years 100 and 200 champion mysteriously turned up to State athletics on the weekend wearing a Knox kit.
There were two 16s boys who ran faster than Byron in the 100 at CAS, but in older age groups. Neither plays rugby any more, so they're probably not relevant to this site I guess.
Trinity actually have the 6 fastest 16yo 100 runners in CAS, but only one (Byron) still plays rugby. It's...
I didn't say he wasn't a good rugby player, but he is a top athlete. He won nationals all schools hurdles last year running up an age group. He's not one of the best rugby players in the country playing up an age group.
He is therefore a better athlete than rugby player.
Obstruction why would you pick Tjeck at 9 when the Trinity half was preferred over him for 16s this year?
I would say Payne in at 12, 13 or 15, possibly 15. Nig, fast and a good footballer with good Randwick juniors pedigree. Cranbrook has a good prop (Pilton), Ilias the Trinity 10 might be...
