Schoolboy Rugby

Frank Row (1)
Hmmmm, me thinks the Lady Head Master at Stannies maybe not that positive for their rugby program. They seem along way off where they should be.

This is clearly evident in Pius' winning streak over the opens, keeping some teams scoreless.

Stannies need to put more focus on Rugby even if they do have a lady head master as it is the premier sport at ISA schools.

Well congratulations to Pius I say, a great start to the season and deserved success for those boys who have trained hard over the summer.

Hopefully their efforts will be rewarded when the ISA squads are announced.

Any idea when this will be?

[QUOTEYou know Pius are playing in the 2's comp?
Carving up a Schools seconds team is a long way off schoolboy rep footy. ][/QUOTE]

Duly noted.

^^^^^^^ Pius 1sts would be playing other schools' 2nds.

From a couple of pages back:

My information is that Pius played Gregs to sort this out.

Pius won 13,s 14s and 16s and will take the A slot in those age groups. Gregs to take the A slot in 15s and 1sts. I assume teams to alternate down through age groups.

So Greg's played Stannies 1st? Anyone know this result

Pius are carving the seconds comp and kudos to them! What more to expect from a school where rugby is faltering. Cant believe the Stannies banter judging by their performance against Auggies the other week and could shape to nearly win the comp. Auggies should chalk another win this week against KWS with a finally full strength team.
More on Stannies:
Heard some rumours through the ISA rep vine that Jack Veitch tore his PCL on Tuesday climbing a fence at the school farm. If so this will really hurt his representative prospects... I worked with him last year at the ISA level and had him earmarked for schoolboys this year. A sad turn of events for an amazing player.
Could however allow room for Josh Zuback in the centres as he is also an outstanding ball runner and strong in defence.
Any word on this would be much appreciated.
Im predicting an comfortable win against KWS this week at home. Any guns in that side? Ive heard Charlie Mortimer is the Cpt and one to watch.
Also good to see Jack Ongosia (ankle) and Cam Johns (shoulder) back from injury to carve the KWS defence.

Heard the same thing about Veitch. <DELETED> If true, this will really effect Stannies...

Good to see Blue Mountains Grammar School, Oxley College and The Scots School hanging in there in ISA Div III, playing the "Big Schools" 3rd XV & C teams.

Any chance of other schools like Hunter Valley Grammar School joining Kinross and moving from AICES across to ISA, even if it is to Div III initially? Regular competitive games must be good for the players within those schools.

Kudos to KWS - held off a full scale St Augs onslaught for the second half, and scored all their points in that second half. KWS defence top notch.
Can't wait until 2nd round!

St Augs 2nds 49-7 or thereabouts
St Augs 15As 40-something - 5
