Tough season, if not demoralising, for Shore judging by the scores. Perhaps this explains but does not excuse the behaviour of the boys today as reported in other posts. Scots - perhaps need to look at ill-discipline which is costing on the scoreboard. Newington - needs to value kicking, look at team selections starting from Year 7 and don’t call off training for no reason (attitude to all sports). Can’t comment on the others but would like to see more than 5 games in the GPS competition (6 schools in 1st grade). How to get other GPS schools competitive and have the number of teams. Looks like Shore wasn’t competitive so are we to drop to 5 schools and only play 4 games. Oh well, this is what happens when schools like Newington have more boys playing football and introduces AFL to rub salt in to the wounds.

Its not just Newington playing Aussie Rules and Soccer

I suspect the reasons for calling off training, has more to do with the local council for ovals beyond the school and a duty of care if its raining. If a student gets sick the school can be held responsible.

Newington has very strong 13s as shown by their results, so the selection policy is working. In fact all A teams had strong results, even the 14s who suffered a number of heavy defeats

Newington's running Rugby is a joy to watch and if that means less kicking, so be it.

The rest of your post I agree with.

Congratulations to Joeys

A well deserved premiership!

Update those stats please Joker.

A great season with a lot of very close games.

Well done Joeys on a deserved 2019 premiership. Very close competition this year.
I wanted to thank all who updated the scores at various games during the season. It is a service greatly appreciated by the parents of GPS Boarders, who can't make it to all of the games.
There are plenty of people who silently watch these AAGPS Rugby threads.

Joeys win the comp, Wallabies smash the All Blacks.

Coincidence? Fuck no.

Good has triumphed. Karma has returned to the universe. There is balance once more.

Supporters of other schools should be happy that we are all back into the way the planets are meant to align. To accept your fate and be content that all is once more right with the world. For the greater good of all humanity.

Just like Joeys, the wallabies only won due to a red card in their favour. Still well done to the boys in pink. Sets up for another big 2020
