There was actually little exchange of handshakes between the teams (neither team in the right or wrong just the result of one teams devastation and another excitement embracing their friends). Voldemort may i ask how you are accessing this footage and its seems only players and coaches can access due to issue regarding Cluch.

TTT
I am getting the same problem with cluch, but I was at the Kings V Shore game sitting in my car on the hill. Almost got bogged.

Play on,

I have seen this error before, in the early trial rounds this season - knowing IT, the error states that its an access issue, which means that the permissions have not been set correctly (or have changed) for this video on the Cluch server; last time this occurred, it was fixed during the working week, so I assume the same will happen with this one.

If not, then we will know that the school(s) have asked for it not to be accessible to general Cluch subscribers, for whatever reason...

What would stop the GPS implementing a further referee to be watching Cluchs stream and pointing out any foul play missed by referees. A 4th official for foul play?

Surely budget cannot be an explination.
couldn't agree more, many dirty plays from kings against shore that must be reviewed!!

We don't need another official - sitting with the cluch TV crew - checking foul play, etc

They can't even get that right on the International stage, so what hopes do we have for local schoolboy rugby?! And with only 1st XV having extra game time available, all games wouldn't finish until early evening...

The chance of this happening is - Buckleys...

What I believe should be implemented immediately is having the touchies/ ARs wired up to talk to the ref for 1st XV, and possibly 2nd XV matches. These specialised comms units have come down in price in recent years, but they can still be expensive, and do require looking after/ maintenance

Shute Shield, 1st Colts, Subbies Div 1 1st grade, and Subbies Div 2 1st grade matches all currently have the ARs wired up to chat to the referee - its time for the schools to do likewise..

Alright.....let me step in here.

As one of the wise old owls in this tree I and others have all seen this before. Accusations made agaisnt a school can get out of hand and then you have another person jump in and then it is a free for all. There is a difference between slander and banter (which I know well)

slander
the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation.
example. XXXXX are a bunch of filthy cheating players.

banter.
the playful and friendly exchange of teasing remarks.
example. XXXXX boys often find it hard to park daddy's Roll Royce in the staff car park.

If you don't wish to be banned and feel Cyclopaths wrath, for goodness sake let this go. Even if we see the video eventually, remember SCHOOLS will also be watching this. In the spirit of the AAGPS lets try to not start a flame war between schools. We are better then this.

nice to see kings can win something without cheating. Wait, is throwing punches and being grubby cheating? or is it just out of the sports etiquette and just a morally wrong thing
Shore people please move on. I saw the aggression from 1sts to 3rds from both sides and yes maybe some boys should have been carded (and some that were carded should not have been) BUT this is another example of probably a very small number of people from your school community not respecting the referees and the result of schoolboy sport.

My apologies Ace Ventura, but as New supporter, I was deeply appreciative of your kind and supportive comments.
As do we from you. Good karma came from this match for both schools. BTW.....Wyvern Boy has vanished. Any ideas? I was looking forward to reading his analysis of the game. We need talented people here to continue the discussion

Oh dear! Please lets not go there. It is school sport. Not entertainment for OUR gratification.

Referees for 1st, 2nds and 3rds are appointed by NSW Referees on a merit system. They are coached, assessed and graded for future appointments. Referees want to put in a good performance too! Comments to the contrary are ill informed and ignorant and in fact do a disservice to all those referees who give up their time to give the players the best experience of the sport they are capable of facilitating.

If any school sports master feels aggrieved that an incident goes unpunished on the field, they are welcome to cite a player off video footage to the AAGPS for a judiciary hearing. It happens, key board warriors, they just dont tell the parents! Normally resolved amicably between sportsmasters. Any Red card is dealt with via the AAGPS Judiciary.

Can we also clear up a few other things that that the ill informed need to understand before posting.

Throw a punch that connects = red card (doesnt matter why)
If the punch misses, penalty (foul play) likely a yellow card and a stern warning.
There is no such thing as "accidental" in foul play. There are sanction RC, YC or penalty. A referee can only grade the sanction down by one level if there are extenuating circumstances contributed by the other player, (changing direction, falling etc). Poor technique isnt an excuse
You can have a head clash/injury where neither player is at fault. An injury to one player doesnt give a right to a penalty or sanction to another.
An AR/touch judge may not enter the field of play unless invited by the referee.

I would highly recommend those who are so keen to complain on this forum about refereeing take the time and do a few courses. You will enjoy the game a lot more and gain a much better understanding of what is going on. You also may get your step count up on a saturday and give back to the sport you are so passionate about and your school and community.

Hello Joker
Good to see standards are being set. Several years ago, we had a number of nutters, who just wanted to talk crap and used Green & Gold. as a venue for their unbalanced agendas, against certain schools. Good to see those days are behind us.

That is incorrect, the 3rds were refereed by a regular prominent referee, don’t know his name. The 6ths however were refereed by a Kings teacher in gum boots as the appointed referee did a no show.
The 3rds referee is one of the two Sargents at the kings school, not exactly a teacher but still works for the school.

seriously? its a game of schoolboy rugby with nothing on the line except some bragging by rich old men who are struggling to let go of a school they went to for 6 years and left 30 years ago....

That may be the case. I think this discussion about the 3rd XV referee needs to stop. He made both right and wrong calls on both sides, as many refs do at this stage. Nonetheless, the Kings School team were dominant in this match. Well deserved win.

Do you recall "Sportal".....that was the centre of all filth and slander. I left there in 2010 and found this place.

3rd XV Round 4 Report

Joeys 13 d Grammar 6
This match proved to be a close tussle at Hunters Hill as predicted with only a single try from Joeys in the first half. The big Grammar forwards were impressive but could not breach the Joeys defence. Both teams struggled with the wet conditions that saw many scrums and turnovers of possession. Grammar spent a lot of time in the Joeys half towards the end of the game but could not score the try that they needed to salvage a draw. A tough contest but in the end Joeys remain undefeated and Grammar almost certainly have lost their chance to retain the Col Winden shield in 2022. Joeys travel to Scots next week while Grammar have a chance to upset Riverview.

Kings 38 d Shore 12
An impressive win by Kings at Gowan Brae after a close first half. Shore scored first with an excellent try from early pressure then a yellow card to Kings gave them further advantage, but Kings were quick to equalise with a try under the posts from a well-worked scrum. It was 14-12 to Kings at half time, but the second half was all Kings and they demonstrated why they are definitely still a force in this competition as they piled on 24 points including two late length-of-the-field intercept tries that put the result beyond doubt. Kings remain one win back from Joeys and meet them in the final round of the competition. That should be an amazing finale, but next week they play an improving Sydney Boys High at Centennial Park. Shore are now in the same position as Grammar with two losses and will struggle to win the competition, so they need to defeat TAS at Northbridge next week to have any chance at all.

Riverview 33 d High 0
High played Riverview at The Swamp (otherwise know as Riverview #1) and showed promising form early in the game. It was still 0-0 after 16 minutes and High were extremely unlucky to have an early try disallowed. They were playing excellent rugby in the conditions, but Riverview scored a good length of the field try from a quick penalty tap to lead 7-0 at the break. This is what we want to see from Sydney Boys High School 1st XV! To their credit, Riverview applied pressure early in the second half and started playing with more structure. They were prepared to spin the ball wide and it was not long before they capitalised with an excellent winger's try and three more followed, taking the final score to 33-0. Riverview maintain their position on the table, equal with Kings and one win back from Joeys. They meet Joeys in two weeks time and that will be a cracking game. But first they come up against a strong Grammar side at Rushcutters Bay next week. High will be hosting Kings next week and if they continue improving they can make it a real contest.

TAS 23 d Scots 12
Unfortunately this game was not broadcast, and so we can only assume a fairly comfortable win for TAS on Reunion Weekend in Armidale. Both teams have had three losses so are not contending for the premiership, but I think they can cause trouble for the competition leaders in the remaining three rounds. TAS travel to Northbridge next week for their clash with Shore and Scots host Joeys at Bellevue Hill.

Well done to all the players in difficult conditions yesterday.

INP

Just adding the table for the 3rd XV, as it stands from the weekend results - there are many supporters for these schools and how they are going in this comp...
