Jeez, once again my bias opinion is showing (shore old boy) but I just think Klem and Marshall are being severely overlooked. Yes, being in the 2nds is a great achievement but I do think that they would both give their positions in the 1st a run for their money. Especially Klem and Poynton.

Lots of harsh punishment on the kings 12, people do have to remember when the game plan at kings is for him to shift around between 10,12 and 15 he is able to create more opportunities for himself.

the game plan seemed just to send him as a block runner or send him to run straight at a brick wall of defenders. Can’t exactly expect him to do anymore than he did last night. I thought he was solid and played like a more traditional 12.

Please remember to be respectful of players on this forum when using there names.
Exactly and hopefully whoever mentioned the Kings 12 have touched a rugby ball and played rugby as well‍♂️.

Perhaps they should have used some of the players from Grammar, High and TAS. May have gotten a different result
Rep footy is up another level from 1st xv rugby. And with Grammar, High and TAS vs other 3rds is a big NAH from me‍♂️♂️

Pretty sure Klem is the best 15 outside of Jacques in any comp. Also have heard that Joe Walsh is playing Friday for ISA which will be good.

Not many Joeys boys in the team above? Mangelsdorf and Logan added a fair bit of physicality for GPS 2's, they got 3 dominant tackles in their first half and all were Logan, plus one with Mangelsdorf, who also carried well.

Tough on Orpin also who scored a try, put Le Maitre in, and kicked 3 goals. If not for Sharples he would surely be pushing for the 1's jersey, and didn't see another half who threatened like him.

Farr-Jones not at all? Ran a beautiful line only to get held up over the line under the posts on Tue.

I got to the games on Tuesday early to watch the country game and number 2 for white Angus Phillips was looking threatening out there, I thought it was joe dillion for a second with his slick ball skills. In year 11 aswell, wouldn’t be surprised if he is in a gps 1s jersey next year.

Great list mate, appreciate the time taken to make this. I would definitely have Liam Sullivan and Will Hayes in the side when they come back from injury. Both players stand out in every game they play - I could see them playing Waratahs in a few years.

@Joker also keen to hear your opinion on the Kings pies, quite controversial Ive heard.

Cheers

I do as well.

Sometimes it takes persistence to achieve great things. Watching for a number of years as Shore lost game after game was hard for me as I have a soft spot for them (Best man was a Shore man) I was inspired by the large number of Shore students who attended the game nonetheless. When Shore finally won the first game in years it caused great celebration across the AAGPS. Again the Shore boys turned up to cheer and now rival the mad wolves of Lane Cove for lunacy and passion. This can been seen on the field as well. When the wind blows cold and the gods of old smile down on them they can beat anybody. There is belief in their hearts grown from the years of despair. Beating View this year brought a huge smile to my face. Many people here want the rugby to be strong and a strong Shore is good for everybody.

To those HIGH boys and Grammar lads, keep striving, believing, supporting and cheering and you to will find your way back.
I remember well in 2014 when Shore played at Bellevue Hill late in the season and were without a win to Scots 8 comfortable victories.
Shore played their hearts out and came within whisker of a major upset.
Were ahead until the final few minutes when Scots scored in the corner.
Earned a lot of respect that day.
Great to see them emerging again as a contender.

@Joker also keen to hear your opinion on the Kings pies, quite controversial Ive heard.
For 40 years I have ventured to cold, open White Oval, the home of the Kings Cattle and Landrovers driven by Kings mothers hauling picnic baskets from Bel & Brio. Over that time I have noted the steady improvement in the Kings canteen. For the past few years the Kings BBQ has been the central focus of hot food. Pies are offered but are not A+ quality as you would expect.

I was always hoping for a pie such as those served at Threefold Pastry in Parramatta. They have three Australian pie classics - Beef Pie (beef, red wine, tomato, bay leaf, and rosemary), Chicken Pie (chicken, peperonata, roasted tomatoes, marjoram), and Mixed Vegetable Pie (onions, tomatoes, beans, peas, peppers, cauliflowers, carrots, potato, broccoli). I cannot see why Kings cannot approach them.

Instead for the past few years they have served up the following offer. The crust is hard and contents scalding hot.

1687403476049.png

Nothing wrong with them, but just a bit ordinary. I am always hoping Kings would lift their game (just like Joeys did this season) and source a meat pie from at least one of the best pie shops in Sydney located in Parramatta central. Damn Kings, you have a Bourke Street Bakery less than 15 min away from you!
