Queensland Reds 2025

If Thomas does move on it will really underline the value of all of the post season games the Reds line up (which will hopefully continue this year). Gives Werchon a chance to get time in the seat ahead of stepping up to the no 2 role next year.

It’ll be the best thing for Aussie rugby. Thomas is good enough to be a first choice half back now (force). And werchon is too good to be playing 3rd fiddle / hospital cup. The depth is absolutely there with Martens coming through.

The talent is there for Werchon, it's the composure and game management that could use polishing. He gets tunnel vision whenever he recieves a little chat from the opposition or an unlucky referee decision.

He's good enough to just let his game do the talking.

I cant wait for the Tahs fans who thought he was no good claiming that he completes their team, is under rated and will lead them to the title.
I similarly suspect there will be plenty of Reds fans who have - rightly or wrongly - been critical of him over the past few seasons that end up ruing his departure.

70 odd caps over 8 years, and by all reports a genuine servant to the team. Easy to forgot he's only 27. All the best Blythy.

I dunno cheese I don't recall seeing too much discourse around Angus. He's always done a job for the Reds, just had some silly penalties in his game.

His attitude and always up for the game will be sorely missed at the Reds. I cant think of any other player in the squad who would sacrifice their mothers wrath and carve our a "QLD" on their head.

We should all simply be thanking Blyth for his service.

It does bother me, not Blyth specific, but I don't see the Reds squad being obviously stronger next season. Wait and see I guess.

Do we know if SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) (Super Rugby Pacific) squads are being cut down next year or a lower cap?

This does seem to be a bit of post-Rebels player movement recalibration.
I hope neither happens. Cutting the number of opportunities players have to earn a living in Australia seems like a good way to squander the momentum we'll receive from the Lions tour and World Cup.

The Kiwis outperform us on average in Super Rugby because they have more depth and more minutes of rugby on offer.

Yeah - I’m a fan and I wish we weren’t losing him. His discipline is an issue at times but personally I think we could still do far worse in terms of Wallaby squad members - although I accept that appears unlikely given he’s rarely started for the Reds this year. When he’s been on the field this year I think he’s played some of his best rugby.
