I suspect a plummet in membership sales in 2015.

I believed it was far to wait and see how Graham goes. Now we know how he has gone, he has to go. He can take Meehan with him. We keep Styles because our set piece is actually looking stronger. We go looking for the best coach on the market. We do it now so he has a fighting chance at recruitment before next season. We give him the freedom to implement his changes including the structural ones. We tone down the marketing because we currently know "when greatness calls" the Reds have gone missing. Maybe something more like come on board and join us in a new era would be better.

+ Growden this week reported 'a very high profile' Reds player exploring a possible transfer to the Tahs due to dissatisfaction with Reds' 'team officials'.

This is an inevitable by-product of the coaching train wreck occurring within the 2014 Reds. The better, prouder players start to hate existing within a poorly coached environment and regularly losing. And further there is no specialist/assistant coach delivering clear excellence or even improvement - it's not just RG that's failing, the whole core group of RG, Stiles and Meehan looks a second rate mess.

In QC (Quade Cooper)'s particular case, he also suffers the lazy critique from our mainstream media that have to (or think they have to) keep sucking up to coaches, CEOs, and franchise media people and thus for whom individual players become the easier target of their assessments - QC (Quade Cooper) is now again being told he's not the best choice for the Wallabies, etc.

There's an intriguing echo from the recent past here: remember when B Barnes walked out of the Reds in 2009, totally disgruntled with all the then Reds and QRU had become. He headed for the Tahs, and sadly never succeeded there, but his departure was the part-catalyst for tumultuous change at Ballymore. And, of course, the speedy promotion of an erratic young star in one Quade Cooper.

Growden is often full of shit.

Unless someone has some kind of "get out" clause in their contact, the only very high profile player off contract at the Reds is Quade Cooper. NSW would have no interest in Quade. They have good options at 10 in Foley and Beale. They also have no money.

The only players that I imagine NSW would be interested in would be James Hanson, Will Genia or your locks. Again- NSW doesn't have any money for any of those guys. But if one of them was going to leave, I'd wager on Genia.

I must say I have been very disappointed with my membership. I am not a seated member but I feel really let down by the Reds.

I have not had a single email from the Reds since I joined. Not a thing.

A few years ago I was a Rabbitohs member and received an email every couple of days with updates on players who had been injured, thoughts from the coaching team and access to live announcement of the team an hour before it was released to the public.

I will certainly find it hard to renew my membership next season through dissatisfaction. The performance on the field will have nothing to do with not renewing.

Really? Check they have your right email (or check your spam box) because one thing they don't skimp on is emails. I've been inundated and most of it is very decent.

What Reg said. They pound me with emails almost daily. I have the forever Red membership.

Thats not completely true.
If he wrote an article critiquing the various SS canteen offerings,I would take notice of his thoughts.
Not saying I would act on his recommendations, just that I would give it due consideration.

I too get inundated with reds emails... Nothing garbage, just the usual updates every few days and team announcements..

Maybe your junk mail filter is diverting them?

Yeah we could probably use him back really. He still lives in Brisbane, doesn't he?

Chook was a very controversial fellow! But he's very smart in many dimensions of rugby and rugby strategy and team psychology. I'm in no way surprised that M Foley picked him up in some capacity for the Force.

I stand by my view of 2012 that once the successful coaching group of Link, Tatsy, Chook and McKay broke up that year (for varied reasons), that was one of the numerous reasons the team as a whole began its gradual decline from 2011's heights. The Reds' core coaching group was never re-built to one of the 2010-11 quality.

I seriously wouldn't ready anything into what Growden reports.

Thanks for your guidance, but in fact GG has been right on a few things over the years, in amongst much guff and erroneous gossip.

In some ways I occasionally prefer him to much of the utterly bland, soulless, lazy rehashing of PR material and cap-doffing corporate lines we get from many other mainstream rugby journos.

What intrigued me though in this context was that both he and Georgina R were repeating the same 'hearings' re team discontent from Ballymore at the same time.

You are fogetting the S&C aspect. Reds have lost some very, very good fitness coaches in recent years, particularly after 2011.

There's a reason they look unfit this season, I think.

I think it's very hard to keep Richard Graham on for 2015 but I also don't see any point of sacking him now.

You may as well start searching for a new coach and then make a decision when the picture of the future is clearer.

I don't think sacking the coach and having one of the assistants as an interim head coach is really a good option.

Certainly players like Browning and McDuling need to be playing.

I'd also give Frisby a lot more minutes to see if he is worth keeping around for the longer term.

I agree with that BH. If they do decide to move Graham on, I'd like to see a measured approach taken and him either completing the season and a new coach starting, and only be punted before the end of the year if his replacement is able to commence immediately.

The organisation are guilty of hubris and believing that the great culture would make up for any shortcomings in Graham and he could become a great coach within that culture. They were wrong, but we can't go back in time so they need to look at moving forward the best way possible.

People forget that to win a comp, you need a lot of luck.
Also the right vibe in the club is difficult to build, and harder to maintain.
There are many instances where a club wins a comp, retains all the players, the coach and support staff, yet can never rise to the standards they set in their premiership year.
Who do you blame for that?
