Finally we get a call our way, and get it under the sticks.

Then fluff the restart. Jeez this is the sort of half we played in Tokyo to get knocked out :(

Two utterly shit calls from the ref haven't helped in putting us 10-nil down, but Russia are defending well and taking us on physically in contact.

Jeez I thought we were going to fluff it there. Levi makes up for a simple drop by intercepting a wild Russian pass. Du Toit scores and we're home

Be interesting how the upcoming (next year) usa comp changes the current emirates comp - could see a lot of the teams weakened. The way they are going to fund it looks very interesting! Lots of the recently retired players could be back - there are tons of them.

Yanks have been recruiting some more athletes from grid iron land it seems. Some great balance and power, speed too.

However, their form hasn't really improved in what is - apart from the Blitzbokke - a weakened competition. Their defence has always been a weak point but I'm wondering if Mike Friday needs to be changed to give them a fresh look.

It'll have little to no impact. The first in Premier Rugby 7s will be run and won before the WS kicks off and the US Sevens Major Rugby League is only running the one event which will likely involve most of the WS teams. However, come 2023 if the plans briefly mentioned start coming to fruition it could get interesting.

Meakes is the perfect guy to have out there against Argentina - physical, doesn't take any shit, and gets under their skin.

Intercept from Dietrich and then some good work after we get a penalty. Argentina can't get the ball often enough and then fuck it up with their discipline setting rucks. This is a fucking slaughter.

Bok captain on one knee into the breakdown, gets the penalty without releasing the player. Well done, ref
